Sunday trains from Geelong
We're down the coast this weekend but I'm sneaking back up Sunday for the game. I'm thinking of driving to Geelong station and taking the train from there.
Anyone who does that regularly - is that a reasonable plan? How long will I have to wait after the game for a train?

Check V/Line for times.
Train trip itself takes about an hour. They don't necessarily schedule the departures from Southern Cross to coincide with the footy so depending on the game time you may get one back straight away or have to wait up to 60 minutes (they tend to go hourly)
One tip would be to get the train in from South Geelong. Plenty of free parking and more chance of a seat as you board the stop before Geelong itself.
Having said all that, I'll be visiting the in-laws so will actually be coming in from the Eastern Suburbs on Sunday. And I see the trains are out on my line.
Happy Days (not)

Thanks guys, much appreciated. I thought I might get it at Waurn Ponds rather than Geelong - a little closer to Fairhaven and surely there's plenty of parking there! Any reason that's a particularly bad idea? Looks like I should be able to be out of the house at 10:30am and back by 6pm, not too bad.

Waurn Ponds station is the newest and I've never used it.
But I can't think of any reason it wouldn't be your best option. Go for it I say.
