Baker, Milne, and Maxy were my 'special' three - players that stood out from the rest of the competition of regular, humdrum footballers and gave the club a character all of its own. Dal Santo was a better footballer (but not by much - Baker was a deserving B&F winner), but Baker brought more to the club. One of the last of a dying breed.

While I loved what Bakes brought to the team, watching the skill and class of a player like NDS is essentially why I love the game… just a sublime talent.

The promise Dal showed in his first year or two was unbelievable. He wasn't the perfect player by a long chalk, but the way he found the footy, waltzed around tackles, hit guys 50m away on the chest - the signs were that he'd be an absolute top-line player. And he was. 28 Brownlow votes in 2011 would have won the medal a lot of years.

Bakes was a great competitor but no doubt he was a dirty player. Yeah, he was our dirty player and we loved him for it but time has definitely dimmed him in my memory.

Baker never went on to be a great player IMO, showed promise early... Then went on to be a good, solid player

Loved Baker when he played, hated how he got shafted by the tribunal (Kickett incident, the tall idiot from Essendon standing on him, suspended for a jumper punch etc etc), but now I'm really struggling to get past his confessions in the Mike Sheahan interview. We'd hate a thug like that if he played for anyone else, but love them if they play for us. Bit hypocritical. Dal Santo by a long way.

Well Baker did win a Saints B&F and Dal didn't, but I agree with you.

Dal for me. Loved Bakes and will always defend anyone in the red, white and black. But o how I hated that interview. Didn't do himself or us any favours.
