Selwood is miles ahead

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Depends what we are choosing. Sam Mitchell is the best father.

Jack has really only played two full seasons while Mitchell is at the end and Selwood between the two. When we rise again Jack will be in a senior role and has scope for eliteness.

Mitchell. I cant stand Selwoods ducking / dropping the knee to milk a free.

Have a look at Selwood's frees for stats. Pretty impressive.

Im not even sure I understand the question.

do we mean now or over their whole career?

You cant honestly be comparing jack to multiple premiership captains?
Surely? Has Jack ever even played in a single finals game?

Can u clarify what the question actually is?

Agree.
Agree.
AGREE.

Now, to take the bait, if given the opportunity to recruit one of those three blokes to your club...

No contest... the Dud.

The others are at or nearer to the end of their careers. Jack is just warming up.

Lets do this again in ten years time when all three are retired. I reckon there's every chance Jack will finish-up rated the highest of all three!

And his being a multiple premiership player with the Saints won't hurt his standing either. 8-)

PS: If that knee had only held up, I'd be throwing Graham Gellie into this thread. :(

Those frees would dry up pretty quickly if he came to the Saints.

Pretty obvious really. The rebuilding process means that we must get players who have high quality disposal skills - on both sides. These players will form the backbone of a team for at least a decade - just like Mitchell and Selwood. We had this with Robert Harvey and then Lenny Hayes. Silly talk of giving up the No. 1 pick in order to get a couple of one sided later picks is just that - silly. We don't have to go too far back into history to see this. Jack Billings (pick 3) is two sided. Luke Dunstan (18) and Blake Acres (19) are not. The best they can do is get out trouble with the other foot. The ignominy of finishing last is soothed by being able to recruit the best young player in the country.

And Sam Mitchell is easily the most valuable mid player in the comp. He is very much like Greg Williams. As slow as a wet week, but with enormous leg strength to enable him to stand his ground, spot the best available option and then execute with either left or right hand or foot. Goals come when he gets the ball.

What? You're saying only top picks are two-sided AND that Mitchell is the most valuable player in the comp because he's two-sided? Mitchell was pick 36. Where's your logic?

Im not sure if you understand footy in 2014 but whilst its good to be two sided its also the most overated thing in footy. Not sure if james Hird ever kicked on his wrong foot and he could play a bit. Anyway nice topic from the guy who said jack Steven was the biggest dud ever to play for the Saints. Silly thread.

Same here, but we can all start dumb arse threads like this.

Going off Perfectionists premis about two sided and P66's response

Who is better Leon Cameron or James Hird.

What a troll
