Playing AFL 9s footy
To keep fit and have some fun while having a kick I Just started playing AFL 9s footy.... As a fill in...
It's an unusual game, in a sense that it's non-contact but it is certainly enjoyable.
I'm playing over 35 at Wesley College in Glen Waverley on Monday nights
And soon to begin the season at Linton Street in the open age section....
A few mates from cricket and some colleagues are forming some teams, and we are looking for a couple of players who want to have a kick....
Especially in the Over 35 team.
To be honest, you need to be able to play a bit, as it's a fairly competitive (although very non-contact) and the skill level and pace is pretty good. It's great for keeping fit, with NO chance of injury!
There is a good website to check out on AFL9s and those at Etihad on Sat might have seen an exhibition game at Half Time.
If anyone would like a kick and has played a bit in the past (or still do) Send me a PM
Cheers

No, that was a typical smart Alec plugger reply.whiskers3614 wrote:I was expecting a smart alec reply too!
Plugger you are full of surprises.
Mind you I personally quite enjoy plugger's smart Alec replies.
But on the topic - good on you BM, stay fit and keep old age at bay.

Im very easy to coach. when you havent got great ability the easiest thing you can be good at is listening to the coaches instructions. I was always first picked in my first year of under 11's footy. My coach told me that years later. he also told me they picked it alphabetically and my name started with an A.

I really hope that if someone enquired that hadn't played the game before or someone who was not very good at it would still be welcomed to the fold by you and your mates who are looking to form teams.BigMart wrote: If anyone would like a kick and has played a bit in the past (or still do)!

Damn right.CURLY wrote:$500 a game and I will consider. Seems the going rate now.
My team lost about 5 players this year to offers above that figure. As we are an amateur club we couldn't even offer a cent to keep them.
If anyone wants to play any full contact stuff we are looking for about 5 players now haha.
