CROWD
Crowd was fantastic today, great atmosphere. However, what was really surprising was the number of people there...over 30 k for sure.

Re: CROWD
Brilliant crowd. I'd love to know what our club and Etihad were expecting. This forums average was around 25K.
They ran out of sausage rolls at the start of half time at the outlet on level 3 aisle 36 and also had no grand angus pies.
Pwr usual it was understaffed by clueless staff

Re: CROWD
Hope your right P66, though with a crowd like that, we should be making at least 3 times that.plugger66 wrote:mr six o'clock wrote:31 K

I thought we made about 200K.

Re: CROWD
The crowd would have been larger if more Saints members and supporters turned up. My missus noted before the game the strength of the Demons supporters in their cheer squad area against the number of empty seats behind the goals at the Saints cheer squad end. When those bastards kicked the frst two goals you would have sworn they'd just been handed the premiership cup. Fortunately they played enough crap footy in the first quarter to allow our kids to settle and by quarter time we had their measure,
Go on about crowds as much as they like but unless Saints members and supporters (Saintsational posters included) start turning up to our home games our crowds will be mediocre at best and our financial bottom line will continue to suffer.

We do but it still works out a lot less than the other clubs get from their ground revenue .

Around the ground and where I was sitting on the third level, there were plenty of St Kilda barrackers. They were also in large numbers on the Moorabin Wing and on level 2, as well as those who prefer standing behind the seated areas all around level 1.
I think it was defintely two thirds St Kilda support, but you're right Trev, the seating behind the goals where the cheer squad are stationed was patchier and more threadbare than a tinker's knickers. Are they having trouble attracting CS members, or is it the cost of a reserved seat behind the goals? Whatever it is it needs to be remedied, because those seats should definitely been filled with almost 33,000 in attendance. The Melbourne end was chock a block, even though they had nothing to cheer about after the first seven minutes

I sat for the first half in the "Tobin Brothers" enclosure, (more life on an undertakers slab) then managed to score a seat back in my old stamping ground! those folks ROCKED!
