Terry Dillon apointed interim CEO
http://www.saints.com.au/news/2014-01-30/ceo-update
"We are pleased to confirm that Terry Dillon has been appointed as the interim CEO of St Kilda football club, as we transition to a permanently filled role.
Michael Nettlefold will continue to work with the board, Terry and the executive team on specified projects to allow for a seamless transition to the new CEO.
We are most pleased with the progress we are making and are confident that a new CEO will be appointed in the very near future.
We do also very much appreciate Terry making himself available to undertake this transitional role in the short term.
While we understand that this process has taken some time, we have always been committed to finding the right person based on a timetable that works for us as a club.
From my perspective as a new President, I would like to thank everybody at the club for the role they have played in superbly managing the business during this transitional time"

Because unlike us the board know what good and bad he has done. Maybe our guesses are completely wrong.

Because it is better to let the new comer know what's going on instead of just buggering off.saintspremiers wrote:Why don't they want to get rid of Nettlefold completely .
As ex-president Peter Summers said:

Re: Terry Dillon apointed interim CEO
Just a guess but possibly has got to do with there being a good relationship between M. Nettlefold and others that matter at the club, that plus it probably has to do with him agreeing to a succession plan that works for both parties. He did a good job considering some of the issues that surfaced during is time so no need to leave on bad terms one would think, it's good all round. I think the club are approaching it in the right manner and not rushing. Good decision IMO and Terry Dillion also makes a good interim CEO IMO based on past results.saintspremiers wrote:Why don't they want to get rid of Nettlefold completely .

I'm not sure, I thought he may have waited until Ian Robson was available but Dillon has thrown a spanner in the works

Exactly. Cost cutting here plain as day. I suspect that we are in a world of pain financially. Could be the next Fitzroy. Very sad. The thought of it all slipping away is gut wrenching.

Agreed, I have read some ignorant comments on here in my time, but the above is almost the most ignorant I have read.
Nothing like Fitzroy. The AFL structure is totally and completely different to 1995.
Go and read Matt Finnis' comments re the inequities of the FIXture and its impact on teams liek the Saints, and then read what the Etihad Stadium deal is doing to our bottom line.
Then make an informed comment instead of chicken little blatherings.
As for cost cutting, this is an interim appointment. A new CEO will demand market rates so when we get a new CEO he will get the industry rate for a CEO (whatever that is).
Dont know if Nettlefold was being paid overs, but if his rate is the going rate, thats what we will pay.
Unless of course you want an inferior CEO. Pay peanuts, you get monkeys.
Lance or James??

Look, I might be bananas, but IMHO the chimp will actually do a better job than Nettlefold.

Is that based on your experience in the banking industry?

What I do know is they all the information in front of them and what I can guess is people on here have little or no information in front of them. Now Con which way should a person think based on that small bit of information?

At the risk of quoting that fraud, Dr. Phil, "the best predictor of future behaviour, is past behaviour." On that score, the quicker we get rid of MN, the better. Catastrophic failure. Look at his CV. Apart from the family business, what has he ever done? He's moving back into the sheltered workshop of the family business. In the aged care industry I'm told. Pity all of us who are 50+. Not to mention his <edited by mods> brother, Barclay. Seriously, when it comes to the Nettefolds, some idiots have all the luck!
