Numeric Likenesses from the Past
Ex-Saints players who wore the same number and are vaguely similar to the new guy with the number.
5: Shane Savage
- He plays a bit like Aussie Jones? Or Gilbert McAdam more likely. Probably not Ian Stewart.
15: Jack Billings
- Frankie Coghlan is perfect! Or Ian Cooper? I never saw him.
18: Billy Longer
- No real ruckmen have ever worn 18 for us. Maybe big Grant Thomas - or Cowboy Neale?
21: Luke Delaney
- Ben Thompson? Don Discher? David Wittey? I barely remember any of these guys. Jody Arnol? 21 is a tough number.
23: Spencer White
- Stewie and big Kos, obviously.
26: Tom Curren
- Probably not Dal, let's be honest. Maybe Kain Taylor?
27: Josh Bruce
- Blakey, I guess. No other big defenders have worn 27.
36: Luke Dunstan
- Brett Knowles, maybe? A namesake called George Dunstan wore 36 for one game in 1926.
40: Blake Acres
- Troy Schwarze, definitely. Maybe Paul Temay? I don't remember him.
43: Eli Templeton
- Brett Moyle or Jayden Attard?
44: Maverick Weller
- Maybe Tony Evans who wore 44 in the mid 80s for a few games?
45: Jason Holmes
- No massive Americans have ever worn 45 for us, strangely.
46: Joe Baker-Thomas
- ...and no big Kiwis have ever worn 46.

Re: Numeric Likenesses from the Past
Hopefully he's also as tough as Joffa Cunningham and Barry Lawrence.bergholt wrote:Ex-Saints players who wore the same number and are vaguely similar to the new guy with the number.

Mordy Bromberg went okay, so did Daryl Wakelin. I hope he gets the ball as much as Coghlan but I expect (and hope) his skills to be much better.bergholt wrote:15: Jack Billings

He's the new Mark Kellett.bergholt wrote:18: Billy Longer

And as good in the mud as Stephen Theodore.bergholt wrote:23: Spencer White

A left footers number in the past. Daryl Cunningham and Colin Carter, both in and under types.bergholt wrote:26: Tom Curren

In a surprise move he'll go forward and be a cross between George Young and Rod Owen.bergholt wrote:27: Josh Bruce

I hope he's faster than Temay. He used to run on the spot.bergholt wrote:36: Luke Dunstan
