It goes without saying we have had a terrible time of it this year, but knowing that Carlton are not going to play finals helps to somewhat ease the pain a little.

I'm a bit older than that but thanks .Enrico_Misso wrote:So they ditched a young respected coach for this senile old twit who was past his prime 15 years ago!
Juddy is finished.
The Fireman must be 32?
Waite pushing 30.
The 3 amigos have unlimited skills but absolutely no heart or guts
Carrazzo is 29
Kruezer is their Kosi.
And their other #1 picks have disappointed.
And their young players coming through look nothing special.
Basically this was their last chance year.
Their window is now shut.
The ship will start sinking with Captain Sourpuss at the helm.
By the end of next year they will sack him.
Judd, Scotland, Carrazzo and Waite will retire.
Then they will dissolve into a maelstrom of bitter rancour and hatred and factionalism.
Then sink to the bottom where this scum so very properly belong.

Henderson is one that has improved as he is playing at both ends of the park. Apart from him they are treading water or going backwards. A Carlton supporting mate of mine was disgusted when Sticks and his cronies dragged Malthouse out of retirement indicating he thought it would never work.sippo wrote:Is there one player at that mob who is playing better (or even at the same standard at least) as last year???. Mick is a clone of Sheedy, a few pemierships in a career of about 100 years. Now both are more famous for thier so called thoughts on world peace and the environment etc etc
A scathing article by Walls. And he's raised some interesting points. Whoever thought Malthouse was suited for Carlton must have been just plain kidding themselves.Enrico_Misso wrote:Good to see Robert Walls putting the boots into his old "mate" Mick.

as much as i can't stand the North Melbourne Flogs I will be yelling for them crush the SCUM this weekend.BigMart wrote:He's a sickening prick, I love them underachieving.. Bunch of soft c*cks
Actually the Scum play Richmond bro. Unless you are referring to the other scum known as the Bummers, then, yes, they do play Norf.ShanghaiSaint wrote:as much as i can't stand the North Melbourne Flogs I will be yelling for them crush the SCUM this weekend.BigMart wrote:He's a sickening prick, I love them underachieving.. All true, but add in...Kickit wrote:They'll tell you that.Toy Saint wrote:Truth is that Carlton were set back +10 years for cheating the salary cap. Have Essendon cheated worse than carlton, and will they be treated as agressively?
But in reality they missed out on a couple of good picks for Cheating.
What really set them back for 10 years was:
StKilda stealing Hamill off them for Cranage.
Drafting Luke Livingston at pick 4.
Trading ALL their draft picks in a bloody good draft for Cory McKernan, Justin Murphy and Lindsy Smith.
Trading a draft pick for Barnaby French.
Having done massive deals like these prior to their punishment didn't exactly help things. They had no young kids coming through already. So think that it was like StKilda 2010, then you took away most of the 2011, and 2012 draft ... ouch.
Essendon copping the same punishment wouldn't hurt anywhere near as bad.
Then they got impatient before they were ready and went for the Judd and Warnock trades.

2003 - poor draft, they had pick 2
Their trio of number 1 picks haven't come on as well as they should - Murphy has underperformed this year, Gibbs hasn't reached his potential and Kreuzer is a GOP+ at best. They shouldn't even have picked Kreuzer and would look a lot better with Cotchin in their midfield instead.
Add in Yarran who is another top pick with bags of talent still as yet largely untapped and we're making a case for a clud with a cultural problem in terms of developing players.
Also, not only did they overpay (in terms of dps) for Judd, but he has cost them under the salary cap too.
They should have replaced Fev as a full forward but relied on Jarrad Waite instead.
