R we really that far away

Been a terrible year but players either injured or just plain playing injured especially down back. Add some smart recruiting ie free agency or trades and u just never know

I reckon we would've won twice the amount of games if a few of the senior guys like Fisher, Gilbert and Schneider played more footy this year. Next year will be worse if a few retire, Lenny especially.

Far away from what exactly? Depends on that question. Never say never but it's the first real down season and 1-2 season swings don't fit the Afl trend. Then you have to look at the seniors, will we come back and slide again when the vets like roo lenny Dal and Joey retire. Hopefully not but it is a possible scenario. In the end it's an impossible question to answer accurately

A hell of a long way away. Best are always the older guys. Where is our Libba or Cameron?

Its all relative isn't it. Gold Coast, GWS, Richmond, North etc who are our initial competitors are all going to keep improving their lists, body sizes etc. If you're not going forward you are going backwards. But I can see some clear development in the young players ability to play contested footy - even if it is not at a high level yet to trouble premiership contenders like hawks and cats. The trouble is as Rooey, Monty, Dal drop off we could go backwards to go forwards.

How about Jack Steven? ??

You also have to consider that our draft picks havent been 10 or under since Ben Mcevoy. Next year with a sub 10 pick which should net someone good.

Libba was a father son and wasnt Cameron under seventeen local zone pick that never made it to the draft.

Libba junior was good for a few games where he got around 20 possessions in his first couple of seasons- much like Newnes -was more just a project player who is now at about 50 games and is starting to show some real quality. No mystery where they are. Wright, Murdoch, Saunders etc are all getting fast tracked for exactly that reason.

Find myself cheering Swans and CAts against all previous prejudices.
need to keep Lyon from getting 2 home finals.
totally conflicted as to whether I want them to lose in straight sets or controversially after the siren in a prelim or GF.
call me sick if you like but would love to see a replay of Presti?? &Sh.ithouse post GF tears with Dawson &skidmark as the protagonists!
