Re: Stanley
i don't think Stanley was ever a add water = defence ruckman
he also doesn't have the convenience of learning his craft as a string defender learning of a Hudghton, Dawson etc

Re: Stanley
The experiment has cost us 4 goals tonight (SO FAR).
Unfortunately I don't think he's up to it on any line on the ground.

Re: Stanley
His body language would give his team mates no confidence at all. It's terrible. He's so frustrating.

Re: Stanley
Though to be fair to Stanley this year they ave mainly played him as a key defender when he looks better at the other end of the ground, or second ruck.jonesy wrote:History suggest players still struggeling in there 5th year who were hyped in there first never/rarely come on,even though people still live on hope off that hype.

I think we have all seen enough now this year to know that being a defender is not is gig.
Play Roo close to goals..and let Stanley do the high running.

When he has played in the forward line he hasn't touched it either. He is s***.

Re: Stanley
Feel sorry for stanley. Getting played out of position and its probably starting to destroy and confidence he has. Seems a forward/ruck or nothing and needs to have a chance to settle in that role. Agree Simpkin should be playing.

Re: Stanley
I'm starting to think he may be a forward.

I reckon he is cooked between the ears.

He was very frustrating in defence, however I think he looks much more comfortable up forward.Jacks Back wrote:The experiment has cost us 4 goals tonight (SO FAR).

Re: Stanley
He is a forward/on baller, not a defender. Hopefully, the whole experiment has been to give him a taste of the defensive role.

Re: Stanley
He is good as a ruck- probably our best tap ruck. He has pace and height. He can't play FB yet but remember Lauchie Hansen used to get towelled by us every game now he's coming good finally. It's a hard role and doesn't suit his strengths. We need to give him a giant wing man role with ruck work around the ground and a chop our for Hickey or Mac. he keeps giving some nice teasers still.
