Re: Another reflection- Spider
what a great, honest interview and how much as a person has he grown?
Confirmed my biggest suspicions:
1. Malcolm Blight was a lazy @ssed b@stard who took the cash (still our fault) and was to busy on his private life
2. Stan Alves could coach
3. Grant Thomas was an absolute control freak who DID try and do it all by himself and stuffed us up by doing it (second time Ive heard a player/coach from that time say this openly).
He still loves saints most..

That's because he worked on three things:Teflon wrote:....2. Stan Alves could coach...

3. Skills
An amalgam of Stan and Ross would be perfect.

Is that the response when you've clearly been proven wrong time and again - attack the man??meher baba wrote:Gee, talk about someone who can't get over an obsession.Teflon wrote:3. Loved the bit where he said Thomas tried to control everything and would've pulled on boots if he could!!
You're cult hero is nothing but a common garden variety corporate psychopath ...
Go listen to the interview again you silly fool

Fantastic interview. Loved the Spida. Met him last year in Brisbane. Yep still got a lot of love in his hearts for Saints. No cliche answers just honest and open. Not sure if we could have won with him in 97 GF but he sure was a big loss.
A bit like the Geelong GF. Would Max have made a difference? Hard to believe we were that close with Riewold and Milne not firing.
