Why is TDL playing?
Let's be serious. He is close to the worst footballer to don a saints jumper in 10 years. He is light, not that quick, makes awful decisions with the ball, has virtually nil fwd pressure.
The rest of our small fwds are playing terribly as well - including Milne who may benefit from his suspension. But why did we draft this bloke? The ONE thing we had an abundance of was small fwds. He was a terrible footballer at the swans, and he's a witches hat for us. ]
I'm not a huge wrap for Milera, but I would have subbed off TDL last week and dropped him this week. Milera always looks likely, despite his deficiencies.
I can cop losing. Whilst the kids made some mistakes, they had a crack. Playing recycled rejects is a complete waste of time though. Harsh but true.

Re: Why is TDL playing?
He is utterly lazy. He doesn't tackle. He doesn't kick goals. He misses gifted free kicks. He is absolutely useless.
BUT WE SUB OFF LEE?!?
BUT WE SUB OFF LEE?!?
Re: Why is TDL playing?
He is playing because he dominated at VFL level. Not sure that is reason enough though
STRENGTH THROUGH LOYALTY.

Re: Why is TDL playing?
Depends if Siposs has a lingering injury or not, won't criticise his selection until I find out that....does ANYONE know what's wrong with him?

Did he?dcstkfc wrote:He is playing because he dominated at VFL level. Not sure that is reason enough though
I haven't seen him play at that level. But from what I heard he kicks goals but does little else.

Re: Why is TDL playing?
The real question should be: why did we draft him in the first place???
Curb your enthusiasm - you’re a St.Kilda supporter!!

Will we pick up a player in the SSP window
Re: Why is TDL playing?
If Siposs is injured, why would he be named and/or training...
Beside the point
TDL plays another senior game.... Coach needs replacing. He is the 's' word

Because we needed to draft a dud so as not to shock all us supporters.Sainternist wrote:The real question should be: why did we draft him in the first place???
We don't want a sudden change from the famous 08/09 years do we?
I was bewildered at the time we drafted him I must admit.

What pick was he 47? Another kiddie or Adam Cockie would have been a far better option.

Re: Why is TDL playing?
When you're a weak, lazy, unfit small forward you'd want to have some pretty good skills...TDL does not

TDL has shown bits here and there... but it's been overshadowed by a lot of bad things..

He's not that bad- why does everyone hate him. Lee was having a pretty average game too. Small forwards don't often get lots of chances, he is pretty accurate when he does get it usually. So far he's just going but could still improve.

Re: Why is TDL playing?
People are frustrated that a spot on the list was given to him when he has absolutely nothing on the other five small forwards at St Kilda already. It happens plenty in local footy, but it's not often you see a player gifted a spot on the list and game time because he's mates with the coach. Trading for him was a poor decision that was influenced far too much by Watters' personal connection with him. No doubt Watters would have said he fits the age profile that we need, but the reality is that he's a sub-standard small forward that is totally superfluous to our needs. We would have been much better off giving that spot to a kid or a readymade fill-in key defender or ruckman.gringo wrote:He's not that bad- why does everyone hate him. Re: Why is TDL playing?
Haven't seen enough of him to disagree with you.
But what amazes me is that a bloke who was considered for a premyership side can fall away that much in 6 months.

Re: Why is TDL playing?
Tom Walsh was also an emergency for the grand final. Robert Eddy was very nearly a premiership player for us. It really doesn't mean much.whiskers3614 wrote:Haven't seen enough of him to disagree with you.

He hasn't fallen away at all. His performances for us have been almost identical to his Sydney form.
