Best things out of tonight
Armo, Ben, Jack, Roberton and Wright. Having said that they need to show similar next week. Lee hasnt shown much at all which is disappointing. Having said that GWS are just ordinary.
Re: Best things out of tonight
You can only beat you'd immediate opponent each week.
Wright, wax a great debut...
I'd add Stanley to the good column, looking more comfy down back than I've ever see him

Agree on Stanley.
Re: Best things out of tonight
stanley to the backline the story of the season for us so far. he really shut down one of the most promising forwards in the competition in cameron and he adds a bit of offensive run to our backline.
wright very impressive and a chance for a rising star nom.
good to see no hayes, monty or dal topping the possession count for us. steven and armo the leading possession gatherers is good news for our future.
roberton looks like a 10 year player, i really liked his game.

I know it's early but coach deserves credit on playing Stanley as a back. It's a another good sign that he will be a good coach.

Stanley Wright and Dylan great +ve stories.noob wrote:Stanley could be a version of fletcher.
Stanley playing 3 in a row without injury is worth celebrating in itself.

Nathan Wright and Dylan Roberton look to be very good prospects. Stanley down back has been a revelation too.

I didn't see the game, but Lee's figures aren't terrible.
1 goal, 9 touches, 3 marks, 2 tackles
Doesn't sound too bad for a debut, easily matches Kosi's recent output.
Anything promising about his match?

He was fair at best. Its either Lee or Hicket next week and then it becomes Blake or Simpkin.

Re: Best things out of tonight
Master stroke to move Stanley to the back line - he is superb down there and he really does remind me a lot of Dustin Fletcher, the obvious difference being that Rhys has the edge over Fletcher in speed.
With Stanley down there and the introduction of Nathan Wright, who had the most impressive debut I've seen for a St.Kilda player in years, we've gone a long way towards addressing our deficiencies in defence.
Maybe our focus shouldn't be a key back in the next draft but we can probably look to pick up a gun midfielder as our first priority. Who needs Mitch Brown anyway.......

Re: Best things out of tonight
Roberton needs more love. He's done absolutely everything right since arriving. Cost us nothing. Will be a gun . Was right in the action when the push and shove was going on as well.

Thought Beau Meister played an important Aaron Hamil type role, with our small forwards we need crash and smash in the forward line.

Needs to do something with his hair, otherwise he's a good prospect.8856brother wrote:Roberton needs more love. He's done absolutely everything right since arriving. Cost us nothing. Will be a gun . Was right in the action when the push and shove was going on as well.
Lee looks too slow but may improve.
Wright = Rising Star nomination for Round 3!

I think you were watching another game IMO.

He looks slow at the moment.
Will his pace suddenly improve either this year or next is my question?

Stanley down back has been good.I was skeptical, but suprise, suprise, Watters and his staff of coaches know more than I do about football. WHo would have thought.
Loved the way Wright attacked the ball and ran hard and straight. Reminds me of a Rod Keogh the way he run, but can actually dispose of the ball unlike Rod, who could dispose of opposition players.
Roberton has not put a foot wrong.
Armo showed Sheil(a) what running to space means. Will be another Lenny
Was Dal asleep?
Lance or James??

He is growing a beard so that we can tell him apart from Ray and Simpkin.8856brother wrote:

Clean shaven next week if we have all of Ray, Simpkin and Robo in the backline, it would be confusing!

They will be the ones with their hands in the air guarding the mark.
