Blake

Post: # 1314639Post Teflon »

Dont like stating it but hes surely finished?

He didnt ruck, and at best became a step ladder for their fwds or wrestled and gave away free kicks.

Hes been great but surely a Simpkin in tonight would have given more? with say Fisher to Riewoldt and Stanley to Vickery?? (think Stanley is blossoming down back btw)

As long as we continue with ageing players and not face facts and go fwd with the future we are treading water and delaying the ineivitable pain.

We are sliding for sure so its all about the next tilt now - not Blake/Kosi et al.

Simpkin for Blake. Leave Stanley down back. He is better down there.

The moment Blake got moved off JR Fisher started doing the same things. Not sure you can blame him when he's a fill-in. Stopping the ball coming in on a platter would be good....and the umpires weren't kind to our defenders at their end of the ground.

Jason is another fine player who has had to stay on one or two years past his use by date simply because there needs to be a transition from experience to newbies. Had Grant Thomas not dropped him for rounds 11 and 12 (after 10 straight wins) in 2004 (he said he wanted to experiment), Jason, like a lot of others, would be wearing premiership medallions.
