Is being annihilated by Sydney really the sort of impression we want to set for any locals that do actually turn up? Hard to see how this experiment is going to work in-so-far as attracting new members.

But then again, I said a few weeks ago to solidify any local support we were mad for not playing an easybeat team like GC in Wellington... so maybe it doesn't matter who we play at all.

We should have had an intraclub then we would get a win.

Not with the umpires we had last night.

AFL will want our venture to NZ to be a success. It will be our turn to be on the right side of the free kick ledger. Some on here will believe that after what I have read in another thread.a

this reporter must also have been around this week
http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/other-spor ... o-AFL-code
It is a light training session the day before the game but even so, Riewoldt shows flashes of his pedigree in a match simulation.

Afterwards, by a fruit bowl, the club's intense coach, Scott Watters, explains he leaves no stone unturned in searching for an edge.

A military buff, Watters instructed each player to read a book on the killing of Osama bin Laden as part of their pre-season.

He has studied football, hockey, ice hockey and lacrosse for ideas, is close with Robbie Kearns at the Melbourne Storm and observed the Hurricanes during January's visit to Wellington.
