I did enjoy the remote control blimp they had last time I was there... I think they should get more creative with the blimp designs and have battles, or races, etc.

Apart from that (obviously genius idea) why fix what is not broken?... someone always wants to justify their pay/position, and leave their mark. What happened to stewardship, firm hand on the tiller, steady as she goes?! Only cringeworthy and annoying can come of this.

I don't know anything about how much 'razzle dazzle' there is at an NBA game but an EPL match consists of getting off a train, walking to the ground, the team walks out to their song, drink at halftime and go home at the end. Nobody yells anything at you - apart from reading out the teams before the match starts.

I wish that whoever runs ES would appreciate that we may be able to fill in the time before a game talking to each other. Why don't they just ask people wether they want to be squealed at and listen to 180dB irish jigs before the game?

Crap. I went to an NBA game last weekend. Double overtime, momentum swings, great plays - it's very hard to argue that NBA isn't a good contest to watch when it's good. (Or that AFL can be tedious when it's bad.)

But I agree that the pageantry and noise at NBA games is pretty close to ridiculous. Cheerleaders, T-shirt cannons, entertainers everywhere, half-time shows, celebrities on the big screen, music during the game, DJs during the breaks, the announcer telling you what just happened. Towards the end you almost forgot you were watching a basketball game - I swear they only played about twenty minutes of the entire last hour and a half.

I didn't mind the live bands before the game, maybe it's just me.

I never found them too loud, usually the music/adverts over the PA is much louder.
