How many bloody Sandgropers

Post: # 1271250Post joffaboy »

Will Watters inflict on our club?

A bunch of coaches and "high performance" managers, Wilkes last year, Lee (whomever the f##k he is), and possibly Brown (i know a Vic but was a WCE).

Watters does realise that there are more football places than flipping WA doesn't he?

Lance or James??

We actually picked up heaps of our sandgropers before Watters turned up....

We went from 1 (Gardner) to 7 :

Winmar, CJ, Ray, Cripps, Peake, Ledger, Andreoli - all under the Ross Lyon regime.

So not completely Watters doing that we have turned into "Far-East Perth FC"

But it looks like we will lose at least 4 - Ray, Peake, CJ, Cripps from that bunch of 7 - maybe all 7 of them. So probably end up a net loss of sandgropers under Watters. Remember Mitch Brown is a Victorian returning home (recruited from Nth Ballarat) so you cant really count him either.

There is just as many quality coaches and people in the AFL industry outside of Victoria as there is in. The benefit of the non Vic personnel is they dont come with the pre conceived Victorian biase or snobbery against St Kilda that a lot of the non Saints people carry.

Where did our last two heralded players come from that have left the club ?

Good point. Ball and BJ both carry the Victorian thing of wanting to be at a 'big' club. What are they 5 years old? knobs.

What age is knobs normally said at? Anyway at the moment a WA recruiting thing hasnt produced to much. Certainly no stars. Time to correct it.

And whats so great about WA football?

Three flags since 1987, two when the Eagles were a state team.

Freo has produced nothing in 16 years

Therefore one legit flag in 25 years from a whole state.

We are top heavy with second rate West Australians.

It bodes ill for the future.

Gary Colling was good. Have no idea why you mentioned him. I was obviously talking about now.

And Alistair Smith....

At least it's has expanded from Queensland and Gippsland...... We had a phobia of the TAC Cup (gippsland aside) for a decade

We look every where for good players WA has produced some good under 18 teams recently so obviously WA players come under consideration .. It a good thing that we cast a wide net to get the best people in the country not just the best in Melbourne ...

We used to get all of our players from Ballarat, they were great at winning wooden spoons...let's see where WA Inc takes us this time around...

"How many bloody Sandgropers?"

Probably the least concern I have ever had with the Saints in 40 years of support.

They are building a TEAM from the coach down.
All on the same page, and that's what will win a flag.

It's an exiting ride imo.
