It's an interesting scenario, but RL is now long gone. For me, a win for the players, the supporters and the Club is what I would opt for. It would be a positive end to take into next year. Mind you, if Freo don't make the 8, that would suit me.

Yes the Blues 96 point drubbing of the Dons made the very vital change of getting their % above Freo's.

With the Blues having GC next week with Freo taking on North the blues will keep the % advantage if they win both games.
So for Freo to make it they now need to defeat the inform Kangas.

The general consensus on here was that it wouldn't have mattered if we'd got into 8th spot as you have to finish top 4 to be any chance at the Flag.

Therefore why should anyone get worked up about who slips into the bottom finals spot as a result of our efforts, good or bad?

Just win what is winnable.

Beating Carlton in the final round and knocking them out of finals contention is not as good as playing finals

It's ironic how we need Freo to lose against Melbourne for us to make the finals and they need us to beat Carlton for them to make it. Why should we do Lyon , the Freo board , or Zac Dawson any favours . I say play the kids against Carlton and see what they can do . If they win that's fine , but if they lose it's another game under their belt, a higher draft pick, and Freo miss out because of us which is great.

Fun is going out with mates having a laugh and a good time. Losing so another side doesnt make it isnt fun. It is plain stupid. As for higher drat picks, no one even seems to know ehat pick anyone gets but to me pick 10 intead of 12 isnt worth a delibrate loss. Didnt we get McEvoy and Armo when for a later pick we could have got Jack and Rioli. Picks around that position are a bit of luck.
