Saints v Demons - Preview / Discussion
Last time these sides met
Rd 5 this year Saints 84 def Demons 66 in what was a fairly scrappy match
Possible injury concerns / suspensions: Simpkin, Kosi, Milne could all be looked at by the MRP, Morton injured for Demons
I guess Schneider is a chance to return, not sure about Stanley and/or Blake?
Possible matchups?
Frawley v Roo
Dempster v Green
Moloney v BJ
Jones v Jones
Armo v Sylvia
Should and will win this one comfortably.

Re: Saints v Demons - Preview / Discussion
Changes from Round 5 to this week.
Melbourne
IN: Blease, Frawley, Green, Gysberts, Spencer, Strauss
OUT: Bartram, Bate, Davey, Jamar, McKenzie, Watts
St Kilda
IN: Dunell, Gwilt, Koschitzke, Ray, Saad
OUT: Blake, Cripps, Milera, Stanley, Wilkes
So not a huge number of changes for either side, but Frawley in is obviously important, as is Jamar out.
I didn't see the Dees this week but Green kicked 5, Spencer had a few hitouts, Jones 29 touches, Sylvia 24 and 2 goals. They really don't look much chop on paper, surely we can't lose to this mob.

I agree fancy enjoying yourself after having ordinary year. Couldnt stand it when Saints players got excited in the 80's when we finally won.

Probably not, he was awful on Saturday though… if he is getting beaten tagging, he is a liability anywhere else on the ground, for example - up forward.plugger66 wrote:dragit wrote:Let's hope we don't make such hard work of it like last time we played.

Wilkes will probably replace Kosi too I suppose?
Re: Saints v Demons - Preview / Discussion
Jones needs to tag an inside mid, he can combine it with winning inside ball which is one of his strengths.
Helps Lenny as well.
Not on the outside runners anymore IMO.

Need to smash em early, get there confidence down and then go on with it!
When Harvey played his first game in 1988, I was a 12yo wearing short pants and struggling with my readin', writin' and 'rithmetic in grade eight. Now, I'm a father of three and a retired AFL player. And he's still going. Amazing! - Michael Voss

And what does that have to do with anything?saintspremiers wrote:plugs, remember Stevie, although he calls himself a Saints fan, also has a GC membership and goesplugger66 wrote:stevie wrote:Green jumping around after his goals against crap opposition was pathetic. Get a kick against the real teams

Have been following the Saints for over 40 years. Big deal if I go watch the Suns. Of course I will want them to win when they aren't playing us. I was a member of the Lions for 3 years too and cheered them on when they weren't playing us
It just annoyed me seeing Green leap about. He should be kicking goals against the other weak teams. But let's see how he goes against us.
Oh, and the Saints teams in the 80's deserved to celebrate the rare wins. But they weren't f****** front runners like Green and most of the North team

Why if our club does something similar to another club it is always different. Melbourne are going like crap, Green has struggled and nearly certain to be in his last year. Good luck to him for kicking a few goals. And I agree who cares if you go to Suns games. I would to if I lived up there.

Well I gotta say I didn't realise MCkenzie was out, I was looking forward to him attempting the same tactic on Brendon this time around. BJ has hit good form the last couple of weeks and hopefully after suspension will rise above any of the 'behind play' stuff that goes on. Will be interesting to see if they try the same tactic this time and what player they'll assign the job to.
Destiny. It's in our hands.
Harder. Better. Faster. Stronger.

I actually agree with Plugger for once, Green stayed loyal to his team and is a pretty uptight guy. Think he sees the writing on the wall and is letting loose a bit. He's had f all to celebrate in the last few seasons let him have his fun. I wouldn't mind stealing that Howe guy, he's like a human highlight reel.
