Post: # 1247537Post Saintlester »

Hi all, been brosing for a while now but first post.

Thought Chippy was absolutely magnificent last night. Took the dufus Cloke to the cleaners and also never let Swan off when he had him.

Could he now be our answer as first tall back for a couple of years and if so who replaces him as running back who can actually use the ball well(not turn over 50% of the time).

Finally from over here in Adelaide I nearly threw things through TV last night watching umpiring of standard that Ammos wouldn't accept. Margetts was behind Milne on that last one and couldn't have had a clear view so obviously guessed-AND GUESSED WRONG.

Chips is the general of the back team. His run and anticipation is too good to sacrifice at fullback. Zac's loss has been very telling this year.

Yep. Guessed/anticipated and GUESSED WRONG !

Yes, that is correct. But the main factor in the decision was the St Kilda player involved. The same umpire watched Harry O'Brien whack Stephen, and then waited for Stephen to retaliate, which he did, but no more or less an infringement that the first action, but paid it down field. There is no doubt that many umpires treat Stephen harshly. One can only speculate as to the reason.

But back to Sam, yes, it was a magnificent game. Our backline played very well. We lost it in the clearances when our second and third stringers became involved. When we had Lenny, Brendon and Nick in there we got it out. When we didn't, we didn't.

This is the problem.
With the retaliate one, the ump came over to the filth and told him to leave Milne alone as he was on his hands and knees recovering from the contest. No sooner had the ump walked away Milne copped one from behind from the coward. Milne retaliates ball reversed. Terrible umpiring.

The last one should cop the ump his spot next week.
No arguments at all, cost us 2 points.
At this level you can't guess, imagine if that happened in reverse.

Chips is a gun and Margetts and Mc Inerny are always f****** things up and keep getting games. The only worse umpire is Razor Ray and he thinks he's the reincarnation of Peter Allen when he gets on a footy field, doesn't bother watching even when he can put on a little show.

how many more good years has fish got left? He's going to be hard to replace in the short term or is Simpkin the one?

Simpkin will play many games for us...but not as FB.

He is the Blake replacement...the "third tall" back who is not tall...but can take the oppositions third tall....or play on a medium or small.

Fisher is our FB for now as he is our only option. IF we can recuit a FB for next year, Fisher can go to CHB.
