Whilst probably deserving of another senior game after his 2nd half, he is basically victim of healthy Saints list and dominate Zebs listed players.

He really needs to show a bit in the 2nd half of the year if he wants to be aa part of it. good luck to him.

same applies to archer and winmar. if any of them have an extended stint in the sandy twos at this point in the year, they'd have to be worried about their spot on the list.

Anybody got a view on how Dowler is travelling at Sandy? Seems to be playing FB quite alot. If this is true, does he warrant another crack at AFL. I know he trained with us all pre-season and then we didn't draft him> Anyone got a view on this??

This why one day I'd like to see every team have their own reserves team. That way we can see them play together, we can play them where we want etc. This alignment stuff is getting old.

It's hard to tell how someone will perform at a higher grade. He doesn't seem that tall or that fast but didn't look like he was disgraced last week- I was keeping an eye on him for the same reason. I find vfl hard to gauge AFL form when it comes to defenders, not sure what is good defence or bad forwards. Delivery is usually a bit less flash helps the defender also.

At least the Saints players are getting played in position this season, not like last year & previous years under Ross where jsut thrown to wolves. Personally i like having an alignment, when it comes down to it we'd need non-Saints players anyway as not enough players on list to have standalone VFL side. It doesnt happen often that injury list is basically non existent.

Also think the AFL bodied players the Zebs recruited actually help out our kids, otherwise they'd be getting smashed.

When it comes down to it, Crockers form never warranted getting game last week in seniors.

Been extremely solid all year. Its interesting that we chose Wilkes as our "defender" in the draft over Dowler, especially given Wilkes was never a good defender in WAFL. Have noticed every time Dowler comes to bench he gets his back worked on, so must still have some issues there.

It's a difficult one, isn't it.

If Wilkes, for example, doesn't play tomorrow it would be better for both him and the Zebras if he'd played today. A further chance for him to press his claims and would have given the Zebras something up forward.

You can only asume that he's on standby for Riewoldt or Kosi if they are carrying injuries. I hope being named emergency isn't just an encouragement award.

It's a bit like someone being named 12th man for Australia. Often he'd be better off scoring runs or taking wickets in the shield.

You never hold 3 emergencies back without at least 2 changes. But yea if we go in unchanged its a complete waste as they should have played today, especially with Wilkes not havong played hell lot in last month or so.

They have picked up intensity and I wouldn't be surprised if that wind is more of an influence than we think!

Ledger's disposal today isn't upto AFL standard
Winmar OK, but no second efforts, goes to ground too often
Ferguson looks the goods
Shenton runs around like a headless chook (sorry if I offend)
Dunnel good mark for his size
