Questions You would ask....
I find it quite frustrating how unoriginal some journalists can be,,,
always seem to ask the same question- sometimes in differant ways but basicly the same question
example will be tonight when BJ is on the Footy Show panel- "
have you been approached by GWS.
Have you signed a contract..
better questions could be....
How is the real estate portfolio going...
I note your driving a new merc.....
what's your young brother up to... have you offered to give him private mentoring next year...
how or what would you ask to get a more enlightening answer....
to Lenny
to Roo
to a coach...

Re: Questions You would ask....
I agree with you saintbrat, same questions and the same answers, how boring. When someone does actually provide an insightful, truthful article they get bagged, like Jolly has. Overseas spots people tend to say something insightful but here the culture is to say nothing...very predictable and boring.saintbrat wrote:I find it quite frustrating how unoriginal some journalists can be,,,

the thing is the players often do say something interesting but the Journos are so headon into getting the answer they want they miss the snippetts the players give them..- many seem to have their headline in their hea before the interview even starts.linmarnic wrote:I agree with you saintbrat, same questions and the same answers, how boring. Re: Questions You would ask....
Questions:
Do you ever notice the seaguls on the ground when you're playing?
Do you ever stop and think how weird it is that a grown man should be wearing shorts and a singlet and playing football?
Do you ever look at the fat beer-drinking slobs in the crowd and think "what's wrong with you people?"
Which players from other clubs do you have the strongest connection with?
Why do you think so many footy players start families so early?
When your daughter tells you that she wants to play football for a living, what will you say?
Who inspires you outside football?
What do you think when you look at Premier League footballers lives?
Describe the perfect nightclub for a footballer.
What is more important for you; power or speed?
Do you really think Sam Newman is funny?
How has your personality changed since you started playing football?
Do you ever get tired of the masculine environment at footy clubs?
Describe what you would create for a cheersquad banner for your captain's final footy match.
When you retire, will you try and do all the things that many young people do in their 20s but you missed out on when you were a professional sportsperson? What things?
If you could be playing footy in any other era, based on style and environment, not any particular player or coach, when would it be?
I have more, but that'll do for now...

I found Jolly's article to be entertaining, insightful and refreshing.
Neale Daniher sounds like a noobjacket.

Re: Questions You would ask....
I would ask the following:
Have you ever considered body piecing and if so whose body?
What really happened to the crew of the Mary Celeste?
Are you more a Jimmy Little or Jimmy Hoffa fan?
If you could turn back time, If you could find a way, would you?
Why do people never say "it's only a game" when they're winning?
Do you believe that Sewell Wright was correct in postulating his shifting balance theory and what is it's relative importance in the progression of evolutionary theory?
and finally "How many players slept with a tranny on the last of season trip?"

Re: Questions You would ask....
Or that standards journalistic question-
So how do feel?
Following
Your escape from a serious car accident?,
A fire that just destroyed your house?
A terrible calamity that just claimed your family?
Or you've just watched the Saints lose another Grand Final?
Answer; How do you think I ******* feel?

Re: Questions You would ask....
I agree with Saintbrat, they ask the same questions every chance they get and hope for a different response, gets a bit boring.
I love this club
