We have a better song than the Eagles....positive
We didn't get to use it.....the negative...

But more like us after half-time. We kept going and were seriously undermanned. And a 6 day break....

positives .. we are one day closer to our 2087 flag!

Cons: we are strill 75 years away from it.

disgraceful saints. As I've said. We work so hard and just cannot finish off.

How can a midfield with hayes, montagna, goddard, dal santo, steven, jones not win a flag?

Negatives - we got smashed in the basic stats - disposals, marks, tackles, hit outs, frees for

Positives - despite the stats we only had 5 less scoring shots - also got a feeling we won the centre clearances (looked like we did anyway)

Positives:
Cripps showed more today than in any previous game
Stanley has proven how important he is now.

Negatives:
Beau Wilkes is a potato as a defender
Our lack of genuine talls in the back half has to be addressed at year's end

First half is the most glaring of negatives. Second to the ball and most of our players jogging and not putting in the hard effort. Kudos to Clint Jones telling it how it was at the break to Jako. Umps just really get sucked in by the home crowd, was interesting to see how Cox was able to suck in the umps by pushing back and falling over and kept getting the soft frees. And can someone please teach them how to bounce a ball and throw it in! That was the worst part of the umps! Stanley going down hurts, amazing how he happened to get the injury at the same time as being pushed in the back by NicNat.

Second half was back to the basics and what a change. Hunted the ball and the player. Was never really going to get there due to giving such a lead in the first place. This is how the team needs to play every quarter. Doesn't matter who the opposition is, if we play like we did in the first half against anyone we lose.
Cripps gets a mention for the fact that he looked gone for the year yet still came back on in that last quarter.
Roo kept presenting hard and kept us in the game even in the first half!
Gram I thought actually played well. Just needs more work on those helicopter punts!

Negatives - An absolutely pathetic first half - should never happen, and it only happened mainly because of a lack of effort, which is incredibly disappointing. We should have NEVER been in that position at half time. Mid field need to learn to lock down on their opponents when the opposition gets a run on. One thing that RL was able to teach the boys or have happen, was that we rarely got blown away like this. We were always in the game.

Positives - Obviously the much inproved effort after half time.
Saad looks really dangerous when given some space.
Roo isn't done with yet.

Negatives
Too slow to adjust tactics
Kicking in 1st half was woeful
Backline clearly needs Fisher
Think some of the backcs were caught out ball watching
no Ruckman
Goddards not in form

When it rains i pours

Positives
2nd half
Liked Simpkin and armo
Performed okay given a massive shakeup to the teams structure

Positives:

* Effort and skill is there - but only in patches.
* Good evidence that a strong side that plays an exciting brand of football is being built.

Negatives:

* Not bringing the required effort for a full 4-quarters... yet.
* Glaring deficiencies in list, ie. Tall Defender - Expect an improvement in this area in '13 after another strong off-season of recruiting....

Positives:
- cripps, saad, milera
- kozi has anothe yr of footy left in hi
- blake can take the ruck still
- effort and resolve to not give up

Negatives:
- we look 5-10 seconds behind quality teams. continually chasing tail
- wilkes cant run out a game still. need a bigger fitness base
- disorganisation down back was a worry. dempster kept having to direct players to man up, even at center bounces!!!!!
- armitage just isnt up to it

Other Pluses:
Cuddles and crew were able to re-jig, reinvigorate and reignite the side after the disaster of the first half and Rhys' injury... our coach is also learning and growing... in his role, c/f vertically.
Saad and Tezza would have gained invaluable experience... watch 'em learn from that, and grow their games!
Roo is up and about.
The annointed one. People have knocked his game...? For me he was good, and in that disasterous 2nd quarter, he was the first one to make a stand.
Armo and Gilbo. Again people have knocked 'em, but I thought they were good and kept on putting in.
Not Milney's worst interstate venture.
Tom Simpkin again...
Jack Steven again... (And I don't reckon his disposal is anywhere near as bad as some seem to think.)
Blakey. Has nooooo right to be in the ruck, but no one's told him that!
Grammy's first quarter...
Rhys Lightning was out-jumping his Fijian imitation at the centre bounces before the hammy went.
The second flying rat seemed to have survived...? Good for the pidgeon, but maybe not so good re the spread of disease(?)

The WA Saintas! Love how you even got a 'St Kilda' chant going! The scumpires were intimidated by the 38000 'odd' (and I use the that term not in a numerical sense) E-girl ferals, but.not.you.guys! BE.VERY.PROUD.YOU.GUYS.WERE&ARE.SAINTSATIONAL!

I'll save the negs' for team selection...
