Post: # 1218355Post saintbrat »

give or take all considerations will be an ironic event
given he is a NSW lad
who played his first- I believe ( can be corrected) game against Sydney who neglected to Draft him in Sydney

will play his 250th game vs Sydney in 2 weeks time at the family Friendly time of 4.40 Round 9 - Sat May 26th

Club is looking for a Guard of honour
https://shopdesq.imgstg.com/index.cfm?f ... OrgID=1709

Some provisos; Must buy a jumper and must be aged 5-14.

FFS political correctness !!!!
wondered why it was a youth guernsey ?
No centrebet sponsorship on it .
I wonder how many kids aged 5 to 15 would see the centrebet logo , and suddenly think to themselves , " gee , i must put a bet on "

Dont mention milestone games for Lenny before they happen. Either been injured or suspended the week before in all bar one of them.

Agree. Conplete crap.

CENTREBET are a big supporter of ours.

Who is stopping this nonsense?

Is it the government or self imposed self righteous crap?

I've taught my 7 year old daughter about footy odds and how they work. She finds it interesting, but we don't bet.

I'm sure if any kid had a bet laid on for them by a parent with THEIR money and a lost they'd be shattered. Kids are sometimes smarter than adults......

Sydney passed on him in favour of Jude Bolton...so it is not a total loss for them...Even more ironically is the quote from John Beveridge saying that we were planning to take Jude Bolton with our pick assuming that Sydney would take Lenny Hayes.

I was at that game in Sydney sitting maybe 40 metres from the bump , and was obviously outraged.

However all credit to archer, I remember him at the end of the game actively seeking Lenny out and shaking his hand and saying something to him.

We ended up with the ball after that...I can only assume it was for the high bump!

Today Archer would have gone for that bump as he got Lenny high and clearly had an alternative course of action...high impact, high contact and reckless action...Looks like 8 activiation points and probably a three week ban!

The bump looks spectacular but really Archer should have tackled in that situation and Lenny would have been pinged for holding the ball.

PS if he stays in the team it will also be Farren's 150th game.

after which he will be playing more at the Saints than at Footscray- currently being on 73 games at the saints.

definately going to this game now...have plans but they will have to be pushed back...priorities!! In regards to the centrebet logo, my younger brother just got a new jumper as his old one was too small...and didn't want to wear it at first because 'it's missing that writing' and he wants to have 'a real jumper like the players'. I understand the idea to not have it, but really not many kids are going to know or care what centrebet is will they?

will always be a saint...no matter what.

so let me get this right
the kids cant get the same jumper as the players because there is a logo for a gambling company on it.
yet the same kids get to see the players wearing the jumper live and on the tv and at training....?
so these same kids can already read huh? most of em?

I was very happy when I asked my 12 year old daughter if she wanted to accompany me to the game on Saturday arvo (as she often has social things on now, as well as sport) and after thinking about it said yes. Her reason - "it's Lenny's 250th isn't it Dad? We can't miss that."

I was going regardless, even if it meant I would stand in the outer on my own. The respect the man holds at our club means that if you can get there on Saturday, you should get there I reckon.
