NAB Cup 2012

Post: # 1189577Post 3rd generation saint »

Every year I look forward to the start of the season with renewed hope and dreeams.
This season's NAB Cup however doesn't do much for me and I am viewing them as simply overglorified practice matches.
If we get through with no serious injuries I will be happy.
However if we get through with no serious injuries and with a glimpse that our new recruits are going to provide an exciting season, well I'll be even happier.
If we get through all of the above and Rhyss and last years recruits fill us with even more excitement and expectation, well extremely happy.
Don't really care about the results, but if we happen to find ourselves in the final, well any silverware is good silverware.
Wait minute, I am looking forward to the NAB Cup, go Saints!

Except for the sanity nothing much has been lost.

New coach, new coaching staff, new gameplan, new philosophy, new players, new jumper numbers.
After the dour coaching style of whatsisname, it'll be fascinating to see what changes Watters and co will bring,
and how amped up the players will be. Do any of our WA posters have an insight into Watters' gamestyle,
which won him a few WAFL premierships with Subi a few years back?

recruiting would suggest a similar style to that of collingwoods

We recruited 6 Medium/Half Forwards for a reason

Rotations

One theory out there is that Rotations may actually go down this coming year. :?:

When I said rotations I mean't it as in several multi-positional players especially up forward

For example Collingwood have Swan, Didak, Beams, Sidebottom, Thomas, Krakour and Blair who can all play up forward and in the middle which leads to a spread of goal kickers

Scott may have been looking for more of the types mentioned above

Because at the end of last year we only had Steven, Shneider, Peake and Montagna who had played both in the middle and up forward with some degree of success
