Jordan Staley

Club: Gippsland Power/ Foster FC
Age: 18
Height: 194cm
Weight: 90kg
"Represented Vic Country in three games at the Under 18 Championships averaging 12.3 hit outs a game in a ruckman/tall forward roll. Attacks the ball with vigour in the air. He is an excellent long and accurate kick at goal."

He may have been a ruckman but he isnt a ruckman in the AFL but would he could be with that build is a swingman type player. A Brown type. The Pies Brown that is.

From BF

194cm 90kg Gippsland Power / Foster FC
Jordan Staley - probably a kpp at afl level, but playing ruck for Gippsland. Athletic, kicks goals, gets more ball around the ground than most ruckmen

From BF Chris25's Phantom Draft.

Jordan Staley (194cm forward - Gippsland)

'Really nice prospect is Staley. The problem is that he has been playing in the ruck for Gippsland, and with his height that isn't going to happen at AFL level. But he is already a very strong mark and a booming kick, and his time in the ruck has let him develop his running game. Just needs a season or two playing as a genuine full forward, and he could be a nice player'

Just saw some vision of him playing in the ruck, and he is a booming kick
Yay they took a tall KP/ruck

Stand your ground

well timed leap in the ruck, long arms and a booming kick. There must have been a gale behind him to kick that goal in the vid

That was huge! He kicked it from 60 and it went through post high and landed 10 rows back over the fence.

Watters said "full backs and ruckmen are over-rated. It is us little guys that win matches. That is why we concentrated on picking small guys in the both the National and Rookie Drafts."

again from inside footy quoting adam dowie, gippsland power's coach........."an excellent contested mark and a thumping kick ...he can also pinch hit in the ruck if needed and is one who will blossom with full time coaching.."

I hope he grows, if not maybe a pinch hitter like Brennan use to be for the Lions as has long arms and a good jump. What impressed me the most though was his timing (granted it is only a highlights clip). Blake is only 189cm and has done ok in the ruck. This bloke will not be the starting ruckman but may give assistance to Ben. A similar role to the tall defender we picked up in the national draft. Life after Kosi.

i never understood why we got rid of him. he was a good dependable, no frills, fit kind of guy. good back up and no troubles to have around.
