Played at Old Melburnians in 2011.
Son of Frank Dunnell (ex Essendon player)

Tall, rangy build, quite mobile and a very good mark.
Very light on weight wise though...

Correct - played forward.

Played under 19's in the Ammos I beleive 3 seasons ago. Light back then and certainly wasnt a star but he obviously has devolped a bit since. To those thinking we may have drafted a couple training with us well it doesnt usually happen at our club. I beleive from what I heard that the club think Magner's build wasnt suited to AFL footy. Melbourne obviously think it is. One of those clubs may be right or both could claim they are right once his career finishes. From my little knowledge I reckon we will be proven right.

"Sam Dunnell appears a very likely prospect, playing as a versatile roaming forward with good hands and an ability to be equally at home flying for the mark or collecting ground balls." (Match review round 17 2011 Bendigo Bombers v Geelong)

from "inside footy"..."the vfl's best and brightest"

sam dunell dob 21/2/90 ht 187cm wt 80 kg

the old melburnian was added to the list (bendigo bombers) just before cut-off for clearances..needs to put some meat on his bones but takes a nice mark, is quick and a good size.....son of frank, an essendon premiership defender...

.the filth were interested in him

.everybody still loves lenny....and we always will
