Saints delistings

Post: # 1168835Post thirty-seven!? »

Ryan Gamble
Al Smith
Nick Heyne
Will Johnson
Paul Cahill...

All youth... Surpring and somewhat worrying. Shame to see Smith go IMO. Will get picked up by another club.

Most of those are list-cloggers IMO.

Only one I think is unlucky is Smith...

Maybe the salary cap issue is not that bad...also, there could be more delistings...

Only one that shocks me a bit is Smith, thaught he was ok.

But I cant actually find the media statement on this one.

HS, Age and Saints website have no story listed.

Whats the source?

I reckon that last part of your statement is right. One of the mid range players will be delisted or work. Could even be 2.

This could mean that the 'other' un-contracted players have a agreed to new terms on lower wages? - or not…

Ironic that we have been screaming out for more (bigger) forwards yet have lost 6 so far… No point keeping those that aren't good enough I suppose, makes you wonder if Lynch was due for more game time had he of stayed.

Johnson was the only one I thought could have stepped up, maybe a rookie for him and Heyne (contractually obliged)

To The Top - You'll be gutted about Cahill instead of Gears?

Smith and Johnson both reported to have a little something throughout the season the 2s...

never got a shot

the list of players delisted/lost without being properly tested goes on

heaven help us if we get any medium/long term injuries to our starting 18 KPP. we will be absolutely screwed. Not to mention we only have one realistic ruck option in McEvoy. Talk about having a dozen eggs in the Stanley basket.

can only aassume we will be adopting a sheedy-esque mosquito fleet around the ground.

So whose fault is that. Surely if Pechan or Watters thought they were good enough they would have stayed and anyway who are these delisted players that have been let go without being tested?

I'm disappointed but not surprised on Smith and Johnson. Surely this means Archer stays and therefore is elevated

Source is Jonno Nash, one of the reporters for Croc Media. Apologies if this has jumped the gun, but seemed confident it was official.

Surely club announcement is imminent

Well he doesnt deserve to be elevated. Second half of the year was poor. To be honest he would be very lucky to stay on the rookie list.
