According to Damien BARRET we have "salary Cap' issues

Post: # 1158643Post WinnersOnly »

According to Damien BARRET we have signifciant 'Salary Cap' issues!

That being the case you would think it would force the club to trade some players for selections or younger less expensive recruits.

I dont know what the $$$ are but you would think that being the case players like Dawson, Jones, Ray & Glibert would be in trouble.

If Dawson stays I would like see him get a lot stronger - his biggest weakness is he is outmuscled by the bigger forwards. I would also like to see him become a lot more offensive with his play like 2010 when he ran forward dragging his forward out of position.

How the hell would be know what our salary cap situation is?

Not saying Gilbert is or isn't in any trouble, but players with contracts can still be traded you know? If we do have serious salary cap issues and we trade to fix it then it's very likely that we'll trade a contracted player.

How does this come up now when Ross Lyon was going to recruit Mitch Clark, because we had some room in our cap?

Barrett is a low life journo.

Back in march/april stated on FS that Milne investigation in alleged rape case
was being RE INVESTIGATED & he'd know within 2-3 weeks if he was to be
charged. Stated this as fact & didn't look good for Milne.

Sinces then N O T H I N G ??????

Milne spent many weeks woring within school system which no doubt would
have been a no no if police thought him guity of such a crime MR BARRETT !!

Club denies salary pressure & even if this was true for gods sake we wouldn't
be the only club you idiot journo.

Be nice to see him write a bit of scandal about his perfect club. The roos.

How come we have salary cap issues when collingwood pick up Ball, Jolly, Krakour and retain everyone else?

Brown paper bags filled with cash ladies and gentlemen is the answer!!

Why don't Carlton have salary cap issues?

And if we do have salary cap issues, maybe we should ask our higher profile players to accept a pay-cut for the good of the club.

At the very least pay on a performance based criteria particularly for players like Roo, Dal, Lenny. (players on the other side of the hill).

Apparently Craig Hutchison isn't happy with the story so far, so he has added,

Carlton give Richmond bower, McLean, Lucas and their first round pick, I think it's 22.

Richmond give Carlton their first round pick, I think it's pick 15.

Carlton than give St Kilda pick 15 for Goddard.

Richmond will than on trade Bower to one of GWS pre listed players they are interested in.

If there is any credibility in this, I'll be a very sad and peeved long term member.

pick 15!!! For a former number 1 draft pick, arguably top 10 player in the comp, pick 15....that is bulls***, they would be lucky to get Goddard's arm for pick 15

from big footy

"Goddard coming to Carlton in a 4 club deal, Blues giving Lucas, Bower, and Mclean and pick 20 to Richmond, they give higher pick back which goes to saints and bower goes thru to GWS as part of the deal."

My take on this is that we are giving St Kilda, Lucas and pick 15 as well as a high draft pick for Bower to GWS. Richmond get pick 20 and McLean. i.e

Carlton lose: Lucas, Bower, Mclean and pick 20
Carlton gain: Goddard
St Kilda gain: Lucas, pick 15 and 1st rounder from GWS
St kilda lose: Goddard
Richmond lose: pick 15
Richmond gain: Mclean and pick 20
GWS lose: 1st rounder
GWS gain: Paul bower.
