One year to the day.....

Post: # 1149976Post TheGoalUmpiresFlags »

.....we had just drawn the Grand Final and were one good bounce away from doubling our premiership tally. I watched a replay of the draw today, and I only just noticed how bad we actually were this year. No pressure, dis-functional forward line, a year to forget. Hopefully the change of coach will have a positive impact and give us a couple more years to try and hold up the cup.

Welcome aboard TGUF

You're brave watching that.
I don't think I ever will.
(Trouble is those last few minutes keeps replaying in my mind!)

Yes, couldn't bear to watch the draw.

I respect people who can bring themselves to watch it but I never will. The "what ifs" are just to big for me to handle

I can get myself to watch the draw because we didn't actually lose. But every time I watch it I always find myself disappointed when we don't win.

I still think about it.

For about what? 90 seconds....I thought we were gonna win.

Never had that feeling with football before.

Me either. I actually thought to myself - so this is what it feels like to win the premiership.... It was unbelievable feeling. Would like it for more than a minute and a half next time.

Then Leon Davis of all people had to kill the dream. :(

The rot for 2011 had aleady set in by the finals last year...we were pretty average for the first half of GF1, terrible for all of GF2. IMO, we let the Pies off the hook and gave them our premiership.

The glimpses of 2009 were far and few between this year, only there for half of last year too. Steady decline.

Great post - I still think about it for the same reason. I haven't watched it at all - since that day. But for that 90 very emotional seconds - I dared to dream. It was a bloody great feeling. It still hurts.
