Warnock Trade

Post: # 1148619Post Saint Stu »

Herald sun today that Warnock from Melbourne is looking for new options??

Has always looked a solid player and with Frawley ahead off him never got the chance to play consistant footy.

At VFL he dominated, so maybe worth a look at for Full - back???

Hopefully we can keep our backline together, we won't need him. Warnock probably wouldn't jump to a club like St Kilda, where he's always gonna be a second option to the current fullback, and we wouldn't be offering much for him as a result.

He can't get a game for the Dees for god's sake. We have enough of this type of defender .
Need to focus on other areas of the ground me thinks.

If we waste a trade on this guy we should sack our recruiting dept. before the draft is wasted along with it

We could do Warnock a favour and pinch Frawley though...a much better deal, though still unnecessary.

Frawley is a quality player, and will become one of the games best backmen.
Warnock "could" develop into something
What if we lose Dawson (and Blake) at years end? We have already lost Baker (class act Ross) & wont have Gwilt for a while. The way I see it we NEED backmen

Mind you, Bakes was gone, Lynch may make a better back than forward, Polo could stay down there too once Lenny's back, Simpkin and Smith to develop there...only the loss of Zac might force a re-think IMO. Until then, we have higher draft priorities.

No from me as well. Better off looking at a young un and developing them. Warnock can stay in the Dees 2s

Warnock is a 27 year old VFL footballer, Frawley would take in a heartbeat - pity he signed at the end of last year.

agree with Baker... just the way it was done speaks volumes
Polo is interesting (I dont think he is a backmen - not explosive/quick enough) so I would consider he and an ageing Hayes will be 50/50
But the loss of Zac without a ready replacement Will leave Fisher the sole backman in 2012

Enough of this silliness!

Unless they're guns, stick to drafting kids.

Silliness aside, and forgetting Warnock/Frawley/whoever...if we DID lose Zac in particular, no kid is gonna do the job, we would be trading for an experience backman. Otherwise, we're covered down back IMO.

Brereton said his disposal and decision making are poor, sounds like the opposite to what we need.

Season 2024 is where RTB is showing the footy world his grasp of the modern game.
