Salary Cap Squeeze?

Interesting that in Caro's article today it mentions potentially trading away a player to reduce financial / salary cap pressures.

RL mentions in the article in the WA paper that he spoke to (?) Mitch Clarke about a possible switch to the saints, as - to paraphrase, there was some money freed up and available.

So which is it?

Can't believe we would have pressure with the salary cap...surely not with the 'talent' on the list when compared to say a Coll/GFee/Haw.


Another concern for me is the faith being put into Pelchan, some may say blind faith, to

1. Help select our new coach &
2. Trade/Draft/re-build our list.

Amazing that he has recently left the Hawks, hasn't been at Seaford that long and if he is that good why was he let go and/or not in demand by any other clubs.
Strange - he's coming across as some sort of miracle worker.

Money will be freed if we put Roo onto the vets list.
Plus 4 players "retiring" will help (even if they weren't getting paid much).
And I reckon 1 or 2 players will go to gws or gold coast. (i.e. gram, armitage, gilbert, stanley)
