Lyon's departure and Luke Ball

I know, I know, another Luke Ball thread. But now that Lyon has proven himself to be a lying bastard of the first order, what does that mean regarding his dealings with Ball? Have heard whispers that Goddard would have left if Lyon had stayed also.
