Brilliant weekend for the Saints so far

Post: # 1112683Post philtee »

And we haven't even played yet.
All the teams yapping at our heels have gone down so far.
Melbourne has been hammered, North and the Bulldogs are beaten.
Essendon is every chance to go down to Collingwood tomorrow.
If we get over the Suns tonight that will have us firmly in the 8 by a game and percentage. Sydney have the bye, so we could take overtake them.
It'll be interesting to see what happens to Freo at the hands of Hawthorn tonight.

Could the football gods finally be smiling ?

I think over there they will take the 4 points. Next week on our turf they will be a different entity altogether.

I am hoping for a hawks win, the higher we climb the better it is.

I don't want to travel interstate for a final.

If we can aim for 6th and WCE at 5 or us at 5 and WCE at 6, that would leave carlton, hawks, collingwood and Geelong at top 4, no interstate runs.

Essendon to get drilled by collingwood leaving us 1 game clear in the 8 and 6th place up for grabs by the end of the weekend...

That said, our fate is on our hands and that is the way it should be.

We keep winning, it doesn't matter what the other teams do.

Let's hope it's a tough slog over in WA

its going to be a wild night weather wise ... we currently have weather warnings for heavy rain and strong winds so i reckon it might be a fair slog for both teams

Dan if we travel, its to Perth...

I dunno but I don't really fear a trip to Perth.

I dont care who we play in the first week....We WILL win a final.

109.58 to 109.41.

the last goal to the GCS cost us 6th spot!!!

still our destiny is in our hands which is my new catch cry!

as for WCE, rather play and win 4 finals in melbourne than any journey out west, or North.

next week, freo, bury them and 6 points clear and aiming for 6th or better.

i hope it's my post and not this thread that turns out to be premature. Last thing we need is Essendon to get one over the Pies here, god knows what sort of momentum and belief that would give them. They have started extraordinarily well.

Then came the bombers..

What is it with that side being able to pull games out of the hat when it's least expected

Looks like normal service has been resumed.
Aided by a couple of injured bombers which could slow them to a walk by last qtr.

So you're obviously one of those blokes who calls a spade a spade.

Or a shovel a spade.
