Where is he at?

Played OK at Sandy on weekend, I really thought 2011 would be a break out year for him.

He can break lines, still hoping he will be a great Saint.

I think his issues are poor disposal and just average pace even though some think he is quick. Probably one year left to do something.

I don't think he will ever be a superstar but he has the attitude and athletic attributes, I fear he may not be a true footballer though.

i had a lot of hope for Simpkin, Smith, Johnson and Stanley so far none have demanded a spot, but I think those guys will be retained. Cahill and Heyne must be close to going if they don't lift soon.

Average pace? I thought he looked pretty quick out there but I could be wrong.

Unfortunately Smith appears pedestrian at the top level......with woeful disposal.......

Some players have to go at seasons end.....Will Smith be one of them...

Maybe he'll get another year and turn his fortunes around and become our next gun mid......

If he's fit and healthy, over 20 metres in our side I'd think these would be quicker:

Peake
Perhaps Jones
Maybe Steven
Possibly Roo

Dont think he has any of them covered from what I have seen at AFL level and many times at Sandy.

Nor do I. I am saying the only player in our team currently I am sure is quicker than Al is Peake.

The other three mentioned are possibly quicker, for mine.

But if Smith were in the team he'd be between our 2nd to 5th quickest unit. I reckon.

Can you tell us all the 20 metre times. that may help me decide. And where do you get that information? Are you close to the coaches?

Got all the others as well? And he now runs the same 3 years later. Glad you know that. Is he also the same weight?

Didnt do the state screening, did the national draft camp. Didnt finish in the top 10 in 20 metre sprints but heyney did so looks like he is slower than him. I imagine you will now take no notice of this thread.

A Smith must be really close to the edge for remaining on the list next year.

Seems in the coaches mind - cripps and ledger are ahead of him.

Do you think Chris Pelchen will look to make sweeping changes in first year as list manager? I can see the like of Smith and Heyne in trouble to stay on the list!

Heyne I'd agree with...Smith should be given another year.

Probably NOT as it is a pretty weak draft this year, and compromised as well.

The 2012 Draft will be an entirely different story as there are some already heralding it as a "SUPER DRAFT" !!

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!
