Storm over, teacup intact

The earnest analysis of Ross Lyon's decision to abandon the coach's box a few minutes before the end of Saturday night's match was a reminder of two things. With 13 rounds plus the NAB Cup under the belt, this is the time of year when footy analysts sometimes run out of things to talk about. Also, there are cameras in the change rooms now. With the game against the Cats dusted and the last coaching calls made, Lyon's actual decision mattered not a jot.
Stray thoughts

- If one out of four players returning from your trip to Arizona with a serious injury is a success, what does failure look like?

- Who'd be a Dream Teamer? Plenty of fantasy coaches traded in Jimmy Bartel this week, to cover the hole in their midfields left by David Mundy's injury and the four-week suspension dished out to Joel Selwood. Bartel managed a single handball against the Saints on Saturday night before being subbed at quarter time, for a final Dream Team score of 2.

- Dustin Martin possesses the best "don't argue" fend-off in the game, as several Brisbane Lions and their bruised sternums can attest.

- If Melbourne was a racehorse, the drug testers would have a field day. A 15-goal loss to the premiers followed by a 15-goal win over one of last year's finalists is the stuff of punting nightmares.

Didn't he just come back from suspension 2 weeks ago, from the match against Hawthorn, striking charge??

Record not clean this year... As per every other...
