$11.7 million

Post: # 1069737Post perfectionist »

"The Saints had the highest player payments last season, however, with $11.7 million, a million dollars ahead of second-placed Collingwood - a staggering figure that is believed to include the settlement to sacked recruit Andrew Lovett."

This makes no sense whatsoever. I thought we had a salary cap where Total Player Payments could only reach a certain level and that all clubs had to pay at least 95% of that figure.
If we are at the top of that cap with 11.7 how could the second placed side have spent more than 1 million less as that means they are spending under 95% along with every other club or we are at lest 600K over the salary cap.

I'm pretty sure you will find that it isn't as simple as a single amount every year. There are allowances made for payouts etc that could mathematically send you over the cap.

Been at 100% of the cap for a number of years now.

And why wouldn't you be?

On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Only really noted because of that scumbag that we drafted off Essendon.

Obviously we gave him a decent payout.

Not gonna do him much good though is it.

true, and IF we went over the cap due to extra player payments caused by the extra GF, we should get fined for that.....because we should've made allowances JUST IN CASE there is a second GF
