Thought Stanley, Smith, and Steven were very good last week. Very happy with this.

So, Ray's in defence?

I am quite pleased with it.
Has more run than usual.

Steven, Stanley, Smith

It must be "S" week at Sesame Street this week. I guess that means it will be "W" week for Winmar in 4 weeks?

http://www.saints.com.au/team%20announc ... fault.aspx

Felt that Archer was worth another game, would have liked to see him get 2 in a row. At least he has a taste for it.

Stanley is lucky IMO but his performances last year gave him some credit in the bank ... looks like he will be given 1 week and then probably Kosi comes in after the bye, unless Stanley really looks the goods.

Congratulations to Smith - 6 times emergency in 2010, deserves his chance.

Pretty bloody rapt with the INS.

Just wonder who the sub will be?

I've picked it the last two weeks (no I can't offer proof).

I don't see Smith as being a SUB type player, even though he is fast, he's a ball winner too, and the type who I think should be on for the whole game. However, think it will come down to him or Peake again.

My tip - Jones OFF - Smith ON.

I think Rossy wants to experiment with Dempster. Sounds like he might be putting him on Jobe, because Jobe has a tendency of toweling us up.

Really good side. Back to what ross had focused upon over preseason. Would like one of gamble or stanley to stay in when kosi comes in round five. Means we leave gilbo down back and gives us targets for long kicks.

CJ and dempster are on notice. If smith can do a job then they might lose their spot to a proper midfielder in ledger or cripps.

Must say that we lack depth in our midfield is a real worry.

it's true. i think it's partly a result of the durability of players like dal santo, montagna, goddard, ray - they rarely miss games so there's rarely a spot for a newbie.

we potentially have depth in players like polo, geary, steven, heyne, smith, winmar, ledger, cripps. i wouldn't be surprised if three or four of these turned out to be really good players. but i don't think we'll find out for a couple of years on most of them.

not sure where you have been but he has been experimenting with dempster for 3 years. played him most places.

You may find Dempster and Jones tag team Watson.

Actually, Fletcher tends to do a number on us too, that may have been a good role for Blake.

I think the selection of Stanley has been made with Fletcher in mind. He has the height and reach of Fletcher but can stretch him with his pace, so it might make him more accountable. Of course Fletcher's experience will be in his favour, but I think Stanley as opposed to Archer is a good move for matching up against our opponent.

Will be interesting. No Blake or Kosi in case he doesn't do well, so it's up to him. Mac had better have another good one!
Stanley is probably one of the best match-ups for Ryder, in the ruck, though. Ryder may be even skinnier than Rhys and Rhys is taller and may have just as big a leap and he's also quicker.

Well done to Lyon for injecting some run.

Steven/Armitage will both replace Hayes.....lets just hope they hold their own.

Stanley is interesting...needs to touch it.

Smith will watch with interest.

A win in this game is so important.

Archer struggled in the NAB Cup against Ryder & Sexchambers so maybe that has lead to the selectors deciding to give the tall dude a crack

Hope Stanley plays well, he can play the role Gilbert doesn't want, it allows Kosi to return as a second ruck.

Roo Stanley Gamble - Milne Schneider and Steven alternating between the midfield and the forwardline.

Then the ruck combo of Ben/Kosi after the bye, both big guys who can push forward.

8-)

Happy with those ins.

Much better looking team imo.
