I just wanted to post a short message to keep everyone informed:

- I heard from Bergholt that users of the other style were still having trouble accessing the forum, I hope that this issue is now resolved.
- I have been trying to get a copy of the database which is the first step in updating the forum software, but unfortunately each time I've tried it's come out as corrupt (ie. something wrong with the database file that I downloaded, rest assured it's not something wrong with the database itself). I've still got a few things I can try though to get it working, so early days...
- I'll try and bring back the old banner ASAP, and see what I can do with the other missing images.

I couldn't get in a for a couple of days...tried today at 3.10 pm and it worked

I'm on style 2 and works fine for me obviously :0

Last week I foolishly experimented with the settings and locked myself out of the forum with Style 3!

Thankfully HSV came to my rescue with a profile reset.

I thought there might be some people interested to know the resolution (from the webhosting company). I sent them a message a while ago asking whether we'd be reimbursed and I got a reply yesterday:

Incidentally, they have a new managing director now so I'm wondering if someone stepped down or was removed as a result of the fiasco. Maybe from now on their processes will be a bit more efficient.

I haven't given up hope of getting the database working so we can upgrade the forum (I may have to just download the entire thing as plain text - probably well over a GB, rather than trying to compress it), but it's a slow process. I haven't forgotten about the images either - blue isn't really a St Kilda colour - but the wheels are already in motion on that

If it makes it easier, let me know if you want me to deal with a DB dump and compression for you - I have a pretty quick connection and bandwidth to burn

a Suggestion;
along with Moderation panel maybe there could be a technical panel link- so those who have experience and expertise can put information to Battye and he can garner 'other' options if something isn't quite right.
