Hinch Article - Group relations

Post: # 1032147Post Spinner »

Thought this needed its own thread...

Bit hard to work out if it fits under 'wonderful', or the number of threads asking gilbert to be traded, and roo to stand down.

Hinch was pretty set on linking the Stkilda schoolgirl, with the recently charged police officer as they are the same girl...

Via Twitter he has published an article... With a number of inaccuracies that I have alerted him of which he was responded to.

http://www.hinch.net/hinch-says-2010/De ... 12-10.html

@HumanHeadline

Age of concent is 16, unless under supervisor of a teacher, councellor or for example a policeman in this matter... Therefore Saints players were not charged as there is nothing illegal. He responded saying the parter needs to be under 18, which is incorrect.

He also stats that it is Stkilda players involved in group relations. Which is the main reason for this thread. I have asked him on twiiter how does he know this, and the fact I think he might have the wrong football club (well I hope anyways)

Interesting read... Seems to finish off attacking the club and its players though. If what he has stated about 'group relations' thou is correct - This might get worse before it gets better....

Also anyone know about Lovett reportedly attacking Roo via facebook? As it gets a mention in the article too.

Part of the HH's post includes this
"The only pic I have seen, shows Riewoldt and a team mate apparently posing for the pic. And the bed seems to have been made up very neatly."

I've only seen the photo via a link in another thread here (the "junkless" picture shown for hotel room comparison purposes).

If the bed has "been made up very neatly" they need to sack the room cleaning staff. It's not made up at all.

Hinch, like many others, hangs much on the photo. He hangs the "posing" on the bed being made up. He then hangs most of the rest of his questions about Roo etc, on Roo "apparently posing". Take away his initial false premise and the rest of his argument falls to pieces.

He's always believed volume and outrage trump proper investigation of facts. He's made more leaps than Evil Kneevil. Once a shyte commentator, always a shyte commentator. He's never let facts get in the way of a headline or rant.

He also clearly misspells St Kilda and Dal Santo throughout the article, If Roo's name has also been misspelled then the article is just a complete work of fiction

Darryn it is St Kilda not St. Kilda and Dal Santo not Del Santo

NOTE: I am aware that I have spelled his name incorrectly.

Quote from my saved version just in case he makes changes....

"Can somebody explain that Facebook attack on Riewold purportedly by Andrew Lovett – the former St. Kilda player now facing rape charges? And the link to the Collingwood case?"

Not good at all.

Your challenge is to identify how many of these he commits.

Well, to be fair to Hinch, I must admit that - when I saw the photo - the bed looked made up and also the two players looked like they were posing for the camerman. At least one of them also looks as if he had had more than a few, but then it could also be that he was hungover.

But I guess I have no choice to believe what our captain said about the circumstances under which it was taken.

There is no way that the bed is made up. Just checked the comparison photo again. And I still find it strange that people think he was posing. The goofy and startled look on his face (sorry Nick) seems to indicate to me that he had just woken up.
It has been proven that Nick has been telling the truth so far in terms of who took the photo and where so at this stage I have not reason to doubt the rest of his story.

Why not go for it. There is always a safety in numbers attitude to risk minimisation by journos.

That is they feel safe reporting false information because the victim wont usually come after every false claim.

The article was worded to say a lot of "what abouts" rather than stating as fact thus avoiding direct defamation. Inference rather than statement.

If I remember right the Rooey and Lovett thing was just a desperate Lovett claiming he wasn't made feel welcome by the arrogant skipper.

Add to that, I think you may find desperate publicity hungry nobodies hanging on for dear life to their already damaged public profiles stick together.

Many years ago, in Adelaide, Don Dunstan as Premier of the State called the media together to tell them his wife, Adele, had terminal cancer and that he (Dunstan) did not want these matters in the media.

He asked for their privacy to be respected in what were traumatic circumstances for Dunstan and his wife.

This request was observed by all - except the former New Zealander Hinch who was run out of town never to return.

Hinch is the lowest form of human being.

His involvement in this matter is typical of this lowest of the low individual.

Hinch's reply to email earlier;

"The bed is not turned down. And you don’t think this photo was posed?"

Wait for it....................

My reply to his reply;

"Don’t you get it? The bed in the picture on the left is a promotional photo for the hotel, nothing to do with the incident. That’s why it’s not turned down. The picture was added to compare to the picture from the incident, to ascertain if the claim about it being taken in Miami was valid (as opposed to the girl’s claim she took the photo in a Melbourne hotel in April). The picture for comparison was found by a young woman who is a member of a St.Kilda fan site. She found them with little effort. And some paid media people who monitor the same site spotted her work and printed it in the papers. Such are journalistic standards and effort these days. And, we thought they knew how to use google. Silly us.

When the girl who launched this whole sage was made aware of the forensic work done, she still claimed to have taken the picture in Melbourne at a SISTER hotel of the one in Miami. It took the folks on the supporter site about a nanosecond to ascertain no such sister hotel existed. So, who are you leaning toward being truthful, so far?

The picture on the right is from the incident. Now take a very careful look at the bed behind Riewoldt’s left buttock. See the pillows? Organised aren’t they? What’s the dark coloured item? And what’s the thin strip of colour a little lower down? How does that fit with the “made upâ€

Hinch will die soon. Worry not.

TOT, I think you've nailed him re the bed. I don't know why he won't put up the white flag on that one.

The "posed photo" question is settled in my mind by Nick Riewoldt saying it wasn't posed. I would seriously hope he wasn't lying about that, because - if it could ever be proved that he was lying - the consequences would be a bit grim.

But I still have some sympathy for Hinch about that latter point. Before Nick made his fervent denial, I had been inclined to interpret the photo as a staged dumbshow presenting the following story.

Player 1: "Here's a pack of condoms, go and get into it"
Player 2: "Sorry, I've had a skinful, and surely you can see that the droopy old fellow isnt' up to anything of the sort."

Obviously that's not the case, but I can understand why Hinch might have thought what he thought.

You might want to also add to Roo's arguement that if this picture was taken in April, it had to be before the 9th, because it was on that night Roo ripped his hamstring and was unable to stand without the aid of crutches for numerous weeks, not too mention he had a major repair operation about a week later.
In view of these facts, maybe he should investigate which hotel the incident supposedly happened at the daye etc with the girl.
Might also want to question if she actually was ever pregnant, find it a bit too convenient that she only discovered she had twins after a miscarriage, and that the other one was born prematurely and stillborn.
Surely her doctor would have referred her to a specialist who would have detected she had twins before the miscarriage.
Well, she is suppose to be in court tomorrow and I think she her version of events will unravel very quickly and she will find she is up that proverbial creek without a paddle and sinking rapidly into it.

MB, I understand what you're saying. However, my biggest gripe through this whole mess has been the willingness of a whole range of people to leap to conclusions that suit their agendas. The "whole range" includes many in the media, who think a competitive landscape demands they state controversial opinions first, without regard for the background leading up to certain events, and selectively infer conclusions, or doubts, on the basis of a skimming of unsubstantiated rumours or unsupportable claims.

To give you an example, I was told some weeks ago that there were photos going around of the skipper naked in a hotel room with a semi clad team mate, and what might be a condom packet. The conclusion passed to my source was that this photo would be released and would be the outing of the skipper as gay (not that there's anything wrong with that). The story had been developed through this path to my source to the extent that the long tall Texan now ensconced in domestic bliss with the skipper had been employed by the footy club to keep at bay rumours that he was gay.

In that instance an interpretation of limited facts had been blown up to link a range of unrelated events. For example, the young protagonist in this incident claimed at one stage to have been paid by our footy club to stay in salubrious (my word) city hotels to keep her quiet. Dimwit has admitted the AFL paid for her accommodation while they either discussed counselling with her (20 meetings he claimed), or while she was having counselling paid for by the AFL, NOT US.

Yet a story doing the rounds has erroneously linked photos, hotel complimentaries, girlfriends payments etc, to come to the conclusion that Nick was gay. And, I didn't just hear it from one source.

Many posters here have leapt prematurely, based on misinformation or misinterpretation. Many everywhere have chosen to jump on bits of the protagonist's claims as having a ring, or possibility of truth. Truth can't have a ring or possibility that morphs into absolute truth without adding support to the interpretation by way of evidence (in all its breadth e.g. believable testimony). Yet, they have chosen to question the skipper's honesty, when he has always been seemingly honest (and certainly never been PROVEN to have been dishonest).

To put it simply, many strive for controversy, irrespective of facts. Others just want to think the worst of someone because, well, that's who they are. Self reflection, maybe?

And, it p1sses me off. Always has, always will.

Do you guys honestly believe that wasn't a posed photo? I'm staggered. Surely you're not all that gullible. What b/c roo says he didn't pose for the photo, he mustn't have? You are able to pick up everything in the background of the photo, but nobody is actually looking at the foreground

Why does it matter so much if he did pose for it? AS long as Gilbert took the photo and not the school girl then really there is no big deal.

I've heard a poor malignant cancer has a Hinch attached to it, and the cancer can't get rid of it.

Worst of all I hear the Hinch is terminal and the cancer has little chance of survival.

Who cares about Hinch, all the bile and invective and lies has finally destroyed his liver.

Good riddance, couldn't care less.
