Zac Attack
There were rumours last year that Zac had an illness in pre-season. Now I dont expect or want to know any of his private medical details. Just a yes or no will suffice. Was this true?

Re: Zac Attack
It was widely reported that Zac indeed had an illness for much of the pre-season last year. Included in those reports that he lost 6-8kg that he found extremely difficult to put back on !!Con Gorozidis wrote:There were rumours last year that Zac had an illness in pre-season. I'm sure it was in the press.
He lost significant weight and strength which explains why he was bundled out of so many contests last year (2010).
But the exact nature of his illness was never explained.
Hopefully 2011 will see him back to his 2009 form.

zac is pretty skinny at his maximum weight... losing 8 kilos would of made him a rag doll out there ...

very good defender. great defence against a lead and a good spoil in the air. A few more kgs will help against the bigger full forwards. He could do some work in the off season in relation to his body positioning when under a high ball or when the ball is likely to go over his head. I've seen him look a little lost at times when worked under the ball. He'll learn and improve. He could maybe lay a tackle instead of going the bump too on occasions. All in all, especially without Gaertner, we need him up and running.

Probably b/c the only thing he did wrong prior to the GF was lose a one on one marking contest with Rocca. Played really well in the prelim and was never going to be left out of the GF unless absolutely had to be. We weren't about to bring a bloke into a GF who hadn't played for 7 weeks (unless his name was Steven Baker )borderbarry wrote:If Zac was ill during the final series in 2009, why was he played instead of Max?????????????????????????????????????????????

Actually plays very well on some of the guns of the comp does Zachary, kept Barry very quiet last time as well.
That video also shows Gilbert at his best, love that run, and look forward to opposition backmen just trying to play keep things off with Gilbo sniffing around the forward line.
Also has me scratching my head at who will replace him, I know Raoh has the creative aspect of his game, but does he have that kind of pace?

This year even though gilbert was fast and ran etc many times he turned the ball over. As far a can recall this did not happen as much in 2009. Maybe whoever replaces him can do a better job in that aspect.SainterK wrote:Actually plays very well on some of the guns of the comp does Zachary, kept Barry very quiet last time as well.
