From Sandringham Facebook:
The Sandringham Football Club is pleased to announce Brett Lovett as
the Senior Coach in 2011. After a few weeks of meetings and interviews
the board met lastnight and agreed that Lovett was the right man for the
job - Lovett has signedfor 2 years but the club is looking forward to
him spending many successful years at Trevor Barker Oval.

interesting that it's sandy appointment. Very good coach, got a average frankston to play some reasonable competative football.

Comes with a good rep from his time at Frankston.

Be good for Sandy.... Not sure how good it will be for Saints.

Yep.

We need Sandy and Saints playing the same game style so that players don't need three weeks to acclimatise every time they come in.

Nothing to do with the Saints. i would think this may be our last year with Sandy.

So is it Frankston the year after?

At this rate we will be running out of VFL sides to affiliate with.

Do you think it could be something we've done?

Why would we not have our own football reserve team that is owned and funded by St Kilda? Every player should be a developing afl player. It seems strange given how much money is being generated around the afl teams.

Although Brett will be involved with St Kilda (our AFL affiliate) he will not have a full time role there and instead just have a part time role at Sandringham

Yes that is true but i would think that come 2012 we will be on our own playing games at Moorabbin. Clubs can put in submissions until March next year to go it alone. It is my guess we will.

Why would we play at Moorabin? Surely our ties will be severed by then?

our lease of moorabbin lasts till 2035 or something

Micheal Nettlefold indicated that the merchandise, museum and other sections fo the club will remain at Moorabbin

and has in the past stated that it would be contionued to be used for closed sessions. ( for which others will be clamouring- several have already _ I hope they are paying for the prviliage.)

Well I for one really hope that is true - I reckon it's a fair advantage to the senior team have a stand alone team as the reserves side. Let's hope we have enough "disposable income" to be able to afford it.
