If David Armitage has signed for one year, why is he listed as being on the Trade table along with Raph?

Yep, what's this list you talk about? Is it an official draft list issued by the Saints?

There's more than one Trade table doing the rounds. More tables than Ikea actually!

Which one are you referring to westy?

Because you can trade contracted players if they agree to be traded...

Keep hearing persistent rumours that he is off to the GCS, even though Armo himself claimed that he has signed a one year deal with the Saints (which has yet to be confirmed publicly).

Sportal has Leroy Jetta who has just committed to the Bombers and about half of Essendon's list.

I think they are ones some journo had a quick look on the lists and put together.

I wouldn't rate it.

Good point gringo. That would be a large broom that Hird was using to get rid of that many players at once

He's staying for one more year, and if he doesn't think that he gets enough opportunities then he will move clubs at the end of next year.

If we feels that he's been given a fair go and that he has a future at the Saints after next year then he will sign a 2-3 year deal.

From the horses mouth.

No offence #1GILL, but what would John Longmire know about it?

The problem with horses is they can run but they don't play football well enough to earn their place.
Can we turn our horses into footballers.

If we give the horse a big enough chance at it rather than dropping him after only 1-2 matches then I think we can turn him into a footballer.

The fact he signed for 12 months makes we wonder if it's GWS sniffing around.

To be honest I doubt anyone would be anything but mildly interested in Armo, and would pay more then a 4th rounder for him atm.

GWS could get others players just as easily as Armo and still pay nothing for them.

I think we should be putting him into the first team next year..probably (on current form) at the expense of Mini? I'd love to see Jack Steven given an extended run in the forward line too

But Armo's current must have been worse or he would have played.

Rumour has it Essendon offered a 2nd rounder for him, but the Saints rejected it.

Armo's new contract says to me that the club's told him:

"look, we're going to see what happens. If there's a deal that benefits both of us, we'll look at it but if nothing eventuates, we're happy to have you here for another year, cool?"
