A bit too defensive?

I just feel we went too defensive yesterday for much of the game and fell into Collingwoods hands a bit. When we finally went direct, we nearly snatched it.

Disagree. It was when we went defensive and controlled the ball that we got back into the game. Forced contests when we did kick fwd. Actually thought that we out thought them beautifully in the end.

Played tempo footy...when it worked, we took the play right away from them. For all the St Kilda influence on their game, the Pies still want to run off and attack down the wing, which suits us just fine...can't drill it out of 'em in one season.

Nope, we grinded them down and didn't let them get any more momentum up.

Collingwood are the toughest opponent we have played this year so we grinded them into next week.

Opposite. At the beginning Collingwood had some sublime direct play that was high tempo. We were able to limit the amount of damage they did and then slowed the tempo down so that the game was played more on our terms. It almost worked perfectly - a high scoring game would've fed right into their hands. Low scoring was the best chance we had.
