Two match defining moments

Post: # 998777Post battye »

The Goddard Mark in front of goal and the resulting goal.

Hayes goal from 55m, a goal from a true leader.

---

If it wasn't for those two moments, we wouldn't be playing next week and we wouldn't be feeling too good right now.

Great mark by BJ

I think both Kosi and Roo kicked goals from 50 or outside too.

I reckon Gardiner would have got us over the line if he had been able to go forward in the second half.

GO SAINTS

Lenny Hayes got a lucky bounce for our last point there too.

That great high mark by Maxwell in the last few minutes was as well. Probably saved the game for them.

A lucky bounce? A decent bounce and Milne runs into an open goal.

I would call that a miracle bounce if Milne ran into an open goal, considering the footy was looking like going straight out of bounds and bounced on its point.

It was Leigh Brown esque.

Spot on. Lennys goal was inspirational as was Goddards mark and goal. So proud of both of them.

Could Milne have tried harder to keep the ball in play?

Such a tough decision... I can't really remember the piece of play, but by erring on the side of caution it brought the scores level (we were behind at that point). If he'd tried to keep it in, maybe Collingwood would have tackled or initiated a rebound. Who knows?

I actually thought it must have been a free kick against us, because it looked like Milne just completely stopped. What the hell happened? Why didn't he grab the ball and run to the goal line?

Actually the defining moment was when Fisher streamed out of half back anf kicked to Roo in a contest. They rush it back and score to hit the front. If Fisher had just looked to his right he had Kosi in about 100 metres of empty space, he could have waltzed to 50 and sealed it.

Bumping this, Hayes and Goddard were superb.
