Miles debut
He looked good out there, he looked like he belonged at AFL level. A very solid debut I thought... his kicking under pressure will improve over time, as he adapts to the speed of the game.

There was a lot to like about Miles. He definitely has some toe, is a good height and is prepared to put his body on the line as well. He looked a mile (pardon the pun) ahead of Stanley, Lynch and Heyne in terms of being ready for AFL level.

I was really impressed by his game, but once again awed by his athleticism. His vertical leap is absurd. I don't think he did anything particularly special with it in that game, but it's pretty clear he can launch himself a lot higher than most. Maybe not BJ. I did say 'most'.
Those who want more speed must have been impressed too. I kept wondering if he might have been a better matchup for Cotchin than Dempster.

Yeah nah pleasing positive
has pushed himself into finals calculations. Decision making was alot bettter then usual for him and has the leap and sped to play at this level. Good back up IMO

He played with a certain flair for a first gamer. I liked his attack on the ball and ability to spread - this allows someone like Gilbo to play a similar attacking role as the options build out of defence.
His one fluff of a kick seemed to be when he injured himself (hammy twinge?) took the mark and was quick to play on.
Nothing at all against Farren Ray but he is more a player who takes a mark, holds his ground, assesses option, looks to go backwards. Miles instead looks pretty confident to chance his arm.

Metric looked great - apart from BJ's mark was the best thing about the game. Reminds me of Rob 33 Elphinstone. I think actually we missed Dawson today when they have a key FF we are forced to put 25 on him and it just didn't work.
Good leap and quick.
Good to put on some poundage but as a mature age player may never do it.
Could be a good replacement for Raph and will be good for him to play only 5 games and be a premiership player!![Razz :P](./images/smilies/icon_razz.gif)

Schneider got a bad cork to the top of his knee and hobbled off ran out the game but had no impact as you would thinkBernard Shakey wrote:I'm sure it was cramp with Miles.saintbrat wrote:here's hoping the pull up in the last quarter was mostly cramp.....

Schneids may have been embarrassment.
I was really impressed with Miles. I remember seeing him in the NAB cup games and thought he looked a good player so watched him closely.
He was willing to talk to his team mates, yell out to set up etc which some first gamers may be shy about doing.
He thinks and assesses the situation well, for instance there was a long bomb deep to the tigers forwards and instead of launching himself into the pack he noticed Taylor coming in from the side and went and blocked him legally from having a good crack at the mark uncontested.
I also like that he was confident enough to take them on. I love it. Big fan.

I too remember that NAB game and was impressed with him then and today again......clearly has the ability to cut it at AFL level....it will now be about consistency.....get that going and weve found something..
