there goes a bit Of tea tree and the Nick Sautner Stand.

http://insidefootballonline.com/amy.html
SANDRINGHAM has opened negotiations with Bayside City Council to have the Trevor Barker Beach Oval lengthened and resurfaced. The Zebras were unable to train at the ground last week after it held a lot of water and chopped up badly in the match against the Northern Bullants. It made for a rugged spectacle, with only 10 goals kicked. Sandringham manager John Mennie said it was clear there was a drainage problem. “We’ve had rain at two home games and on both occasions the ground hasn’t coped,â€

I think J Geary should be highlighted.

Also doubt the Sautner Stand will be required next year.

Amazingly with two rounds still to go, the VFL final 8 is totally decided, and Sandy won't be there. For the second straight year all the guys in the mix for senior selection for September AFL action will have to stake a claim on the training track.

The reserves are in the bizarre situation of playing their nearest rival for the finals in the last two rounds of the season due to an anomaly in the draw. They only need to win one of the final two games v North Balarat to make it:

Nothing like a 6.30 am start on a Saturday morning and drive to sunny Ballarat!

To put it mildly....it's freezing up here

But I'm sure the locals are used to it

I'm not there :( but passing on the following.....

Sandy reserves 1st q 1.4 - North 2.0

Sandy struggled with the wind, ball floating backwards. Had the run of play after 10 mins

half time Sandy 2.5 - North 4.1

Sandy had majority of play and centre clearances but when North got free made the most of the wind and kept the ball down to score goals

Jack Steven is playing here today...

Freezing cold. Wind gale force. Augers well for a high scoring game

3/4 Sandy 6.7 North 6.1

Battled well for most of the qtr for little result and North scored goals late to seemingly regain control but Sandy held firm and finally went forward after 30min mark to get goal, point, goal to be 12 points up at the break.

bit belated due to family crisis, probably just as well I didn't go

Final score in reserves Sandy 7.7 - North 9.4

*robbed* was what I was told - after being up by 16 pts, 4 frees in last 10 minutes put North in front
