Our FIRST day game in Melbourne this season!

Post: # 956584Post saintspremiers »

Talk about a disgraceful FIXture.....having to wait until round 16 to play your first day game in Melbourne!

I just hope next season we get a few less twilighters and a few more 2.10 and 1.10 starts.

To me, the fact the match is a day game is almost as exciting a prospect as who and where we are playing.

I agree. It's ridiculous. How will we get experience at playing in the conditions of the GF, at least as far as planning the day, if we have to wait until Round 16 to finally get a game at the G on a Satuday afternoon.

It worried me last year and I hope we get a lot from the experience this year.

Speaking as someone who is associated with a local footy team, the fewer Saturday afternoon games the better.

Actually, it probably has more to do with us playing our home games at Etihad, with it's attractiveness as a venue for night football in winter, and our lack of MCG games full stop.

Looks like the weather will be similar to the last day game we played there too.

If that's the case, don't expect too much from Roo.

5 prelims in 7 years. 40 wins from 49 games.
2009 and 2010 were 2 of the 5 best years ever by the St.Kilda FC.
Thanks for all your efforts Saints.

The internet, how bout you?

The swirling winds make it difficult to hit a target at the G.
Even with my amazing foot skills.

On a serious note, we very rarely play games with the red Sherrin.

I think, quite seriously, that the wind will hinder us much more than the pigment on the leather. At least it will hinder tall forwards.

more concerned by our atrocious lack of games at the G over the past few seasons!
I recon we have played more finals there than Home and Aways over recent seasons

can anyone figure the stats say for the last 3 or 4?

If we are good enough we should be able to win it anywhere anytime!

The time and location of the match is more an issue for us supporters than the players IMO...

Personally I love a Friday or Saturday night game... great excuse to have a few drinks. Sundays are hard work - or more to the point work is the next day!!
