I could given the opportunity...Cairnsman wrote:Yeah can't hide or argue the fact that it was a deliberate attempt to trip.
Mind you I saw a lot of other unmanly incidents by Lions players in particular the attention towards Roo.
He seemed (very awkwardly I might add) be trying to anticipate the direction of his man....his arms went one way, and he had his legs ready to go the other.

He'll get 9 weeks on the "Guilt by association" rule.
If you break up the word B-l-a-k-e it almost spells B-a-k-e-r so may be he'll get seven due to absence of a consonant.

if you look at the history of the tribunal over the last 5 years , saint players always seem to shafted, perhaps i am delusional , i do support the saints !plugger66 wrote:Sorry I dont understand that thinking.mr six o'clock wrote:Come on !!! he's a st kilda player , straight away that means he'll get 2 weeks but due to clean record he may get reduced to one .
Not sure Gilbert lifted him off the ground, it was hard to tell, but I think Black might of already had some of the momentum as he was launching himself out of a contest?mr six o'clock wrote:what i loved about that decision was a little while later one of our players was slung in a tackle (i know he wasn't lifted off the ground like gilbo did however he was still slung !!! ) and of course no free kick !dcstkfc wrote:Anything in the Gilbert sling tackle?
Was it similar to Mumfords on Gablett though...even though there is no 'precendent'
No prior record which is goodsaintnick12 wrote:Does he have a record. Have seen a few get reprimands for tripsBardon Saint wrote:I hate the rule but it was there (trip)
Same with Gilbo

Honestly when I saw the replay I thaught it was a great tackle, sure he lifted him off the ground a bit but the player was moving pretty quick and Gilbo put him flat on his back not on his side, head or neck.SainterK wrote:Not sure Gilbert lifted him off the ground, it was hard to tell, but I think Black might of already had some of the momentum as he was launching himself out of a contest?mr six o'clock wrote:what i loved about that decision was a little while later one of our players was slung in a tackle (i know he wasn't lifted off the ground like gilbo did however he was still slung !!! ) and of course no free kick !dcstkfc wrote:Anything in the Gilbert sling tackle?

If Gilbert goes for that tackle the game is seriously stuffed

Blake won't go. He was changing direction.
Gilbert will get scrutinised though. Surely the MRP won't let us take on the Pies with ALL our most important players.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Blake might get a week, although his arm and leg both went out in the same direction to tackle, which I think may help him out somewhat, rather than a leg just stuck out in a deliberate tripping motion.
I thought the Gilbert tackle was....well, almost perfect. The outlawing of a spear tackle is because of the danger of head/neck injuries. Black did not land on his head or neck, nor was he in any real danger of doing so. Gilbert cannot possibly get suspended for tackling someone in the manner that he did....
Hang on, my apologies. They are both St Kilda players. Let me reconsider.
Blake 2 weeks, Gilbert 1. That's how stuffed the system is.
You watch, it will happen.
