I have heard through a very reliable source that Michael Gardener will be rested this week and Steven King will play.

Gardy didn't look 100% at training. Wouldn't be surprised if your source proves correct.

Exactly why King's a necessary part of things.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

King has at least been up against some AFL quality ruckman in the VFL in the past 3 or so weeks.

Paul Johnson against Casey, and Roughhead from Weribee last weekend.

And Al Smith is coming in to replace him? (Sorry, don't expect to ever live that one down while I'm still around. )_

Ok the training reports said he was running so that indicates no strain. Hopefully just resting!

He is super important to our team!

I agree.

It would be nice if it was just precautionary rather than necessary.

The big man if fit could play a big part in this group getting their hands on the silverware this year.

He always looks like that at training. Come to think he looks like that during a game.

Ah. Well I haven't seen him train too often so I'm happy to hear that. Hopefully nothing to be worried about then. Thanks. :)

Wouldn't mind if he rested for two weeks. King and McEvoy could take Collingwood as well.

I think the milkman needs a rest too.
Too many scandals around the club.

Could be a late withdrawal. Patto is named as an emergency. Maybe you should shut the hell up?

King didnt even get on the Emergency list dont we get fined for putting a player in that is not named??

The right up on King is that he got 30 od tap outs but did NOTHING around the ground and that has been the case for the last couple of weeks,he didnt even get named in the best players!

Adam Pattison is named on the emergancy bench incase gardy or mac dont come up.!!!!!!!!!

Doesn't matter what happens, Al Smith stilll isn't going to run out and play in our first match of 2009.

I don't know why some of you are so quick to defend the OP.

I reckon people who come on here with posts of supposed tidbits from "reliable sources" deserve to be criticsed when those predictions don't come true.

This thread could get funny.

Personally, I think each and every one of you is a liar.

And Al Smith is still a big chance to play Round 1.
